When it all falls down at once.
Gonna try to get some sleep.
And the contents of this bed...
Have shattered to pieces.
I have a knack for feeling lost.
All those times I couldn't eat.
Like I could barely love.
I'm getting tired of screaming.
(Getting tired of screaming)

The sun comes up,
and now you have a chance again.
The world falls down,
we all forget where to begin.
The world collapses.
You hold it in...

Maybe I have said too much.
Or merely haven't said enough.
All these words they come undone.
I'm getting lost in the meaning.
I'm feeling coldness in my thoughts.
I'm getting frozen all alone.
In a world that we destroyed...
I'm trying to pick up the pieces.

The sun comes up,
and now you have a chance again.
The world falls down,
we all forget where to begin.
The world collapses.
You hold it in...

The sun comes up,
and now you have a chance again.

All you've loved...
Leave yourself, you drift away in your arms.
Hoping as you catch me,
caught before I hit the ground.
I'm dying for you to hold me.
The feeling is forever happy.
All at once, all at once.

The sun comes up,
and now you have a chance again.
The world falls down,
we all forget where to begin.
The world collapses.
You hold it in...

The world collapses.
You hold it in...

The sun comes up,
and now you have a chance again.

(So sleep now, together, in peace)

My Interpretation:For those of us actually interested in other's opinions/interpretations of the song here's mine:

Maybe it's just because of my fairly recent break-up, but to me it's about a failed relationship, and the slow recovery process.

And it all falls down at once
And I try to get some sleep
And the comforts of this bed
Have all been shattered to pieces

When it first happens, you feel like your world has come crashing down around you, and you can't sleep because you dwell on it.
When you finally do sleep you dream about it and wake up feeling like utter shit, and so you become afraid to sleep. Thus shattering the comforts of your bed.

I have a knack for feeling lost
All those times I couldn't eat
    Like I couldn't yell enough
    But getting tired of screaming

Depression sets in, you feel lost, loose your appetite. For me the yelling is almost metaphorical - a mental equivalent to lashing out, you feel like you just can't do it enough, but after awhile it just gets tiresome. But what else can you do?

    The sun comes up
And now you have a chance again
    The world falls down
We all forget where to begin
    The world collapses
    You hold it in..

Eventually you do start to realize that this is another chance. A chance for something new and better. A chance to be with someone who can return what you give to them, but right now you're still stuck. Your world has come crashing down, you've forgotten how to be happy. There's a crushing weight on you, and eventually already crumbling ground beneath you collapses, but you just hold it all in. You're tired of screaming, and don't want to burden others around you further.

Maybe I have said too much
    Or really haven't said enough
All these words they come undone
I'm getting lost in the meaning

This one really resonated with me. It made me think of all the times I contacted her afterwards. I knew I had to have been making her feel terrible, and that maybe I should stop, but there was always more I wanted to know, wanted to say. It felt like every new answer made it worse, and opened up a whole new world of questions. What she meant when she said this or that, hoping that clarifying that will make me feel better.

And all the coldness in my thoughts
    Of being frozen all alone
In a world that we destroy
And try to pick up the pieces

This is a little more ambiguous to me than the other sections, but I would think it's just the general fear of being alone, and how cold of your place your mind can seem to be. I'm not so sure on the second half, but it makes me think of your world being the relationship, and after it's destroyed you have to try and pick up the pieces of your life, and put them back together.

The rest of the song to me, is kind of that final part of the recovery process, and finding someone new. You have to let go of all you've lost, to the point of letting go of the you that was in that relationship and let yourself drift away and be caught by that new person, or maybe even your new self?

The repetition of the chorus, to me, is kind of showing that fact that some of the hurt will probably always be there, but it leaves off on an ultimately optimistic view.

General Comment:There's some issues with the lyrics above, they should go like:

And it all falls down at once,
And I try to get some sleep,
And the comforts of this bed...
Have all been shattered to pieces.
    I have a knack for feeling lost;
All those times I couldn't eat,
Like I couldn't barely love [or maybe 'could nearly'?]
But getting tired of screaming. (tired of screaming)

    The sun comes up
and now you have a chance again.
    The world falls down
we all forget where to begin. (forget where to begin)
    The world collapses;
    and you hold it in.

Maybe I have said too much
    Or merely haven't said enough,
    All these words they come undone;
I'm getting lost in the meaning. (lost in the meaning)
A growing coldness in my thoughts
    Of getting frozen all alone
    In a world that we destroyed;
I'm trying to pick up the pieces. (pick up the pieces)

    [Chorus]
    The sun comes up,
and now you have a chance again.

All you've lost; (when you think of all you've lost)
Leave yourself you drift away & your eyes
    Opened as you catch me,
caught before I hit the ground I'm
dying for you — hold me; [only?]
    My feeling is forever, happens
    all at once,
    all at once.

    [Chorus]
    The world collapses.
    You hold it in...
    The sun comes up,
and now you have a chance again.

[Then multiple semi-audible voices which I'll now fail at deciphering. "So sleep today… we can never let you go. so sleep, together, to???, to??? in ????"]

General Comment:Alright, stop the arguing, you guys are pathetic. If you want to argue about the artist, or how you feel about life in general, go to another board. This is about the song, hence why it is under the song name.

Oh and not all girls who listen to the Used are "emo". So um, stop classifying people. Thanks.

Moving on... this song is refreshing, for the Used anyway. I actually just listened to it. I like where they're going with their music, although I do also like the older stuff. It's a good change for them.

    General Comment:scarecrow,

it is kind of disappointing to see someone who claims to have a greater grasp on reality than people who enjoy listening to music that actually means something. You have probably not listened to many used songs, so let me educate you. The used may have quote ungoute "emo lyrics". But thats only because people do not understand the actual song meaning.

Let it bleed: tackling an addiction
    is a very good example

you have a much altered view of reality because you take in the stereotype and decide to breathe it in. deciding on few facts that it classifies everything you hate. if you hate good music with very poetic revealing lyrics. then you probably dislike this band.

    but that does not give you reason to go out and tell everyone that if they listen to music that has a heart and mind. that they are automatically mindless zombie. by doing this you make yourself one of the many mindless stereotypical "emo-kid" haters. I will be leaving this at a very defined;

fuck you and your mindless hate
fuck you and your insecure intelligence-whore "im above everyone else" state of mind

    and most of all
fuck you and your pitiful need to clog the arteries of the good people of this website

    you unintelligent hateful child
go choke and die on your own stupidity.

General Comment:And for the record, I never said I was better than anyone, chemicalnirvana. I just have a better grip of reality than you do.

You're fourteen years old. You're searching me out on myspace to tell me I'm a douchebag and that I'm insecure if I respond to you.

Just think about that for two minutes.
