Looking back at the beginning of this
And how life was
Just you and me and love and all of our friends
Living life like an ocean
But now the currents slowly pulling me down
It's getting harder to breath
It won't be too long and I'll be going under
Can you save me from this

'Cause it's not my time,
I'm not going
There's a fear in me
It's not showing
This could be the end of me
And everything I know
Oh, I won't go

I look ahead to all the plans that we made
And the dreams that we had
I'm in a world that tries to take 'em away
Oh, but I'm taking 'em back
All this time I've just been to blind to understand
What should matter to me
My friend, this life we live
Is not what we have, it's what we believe

[Chorus]
It's not my time
I'm not going
There's a fear in me
It's not showing
This could be the end of me
And everything I know
But, it's not my time
I'm not going
There's a wield in me
Now I know that
This could be the end of me
And everything I know
Oh, but I won't go

I won't go

There might be more than you believe
(There might be more than you believe)
There might be something you can see

[Chorus]

There might be more than you believe
(There might be more than you believe)
There might be more than you can see

I won't go!
No I won't go down!
Yeah.

General Comment:This might be incredebly obvious but I think this song is talking about him not wanting to die "It's not my time I'm not going" and that he's afraid to "there's a fear in me"...

My Interpretation:This very much makes me think of somebody going away to war. It reminds me of my two best friends, one is going over seas in the army and the other is so deathly afraid for him. I have to always tell her that he will be safe, he is strong and God will watch over him because it's not his time.

Song Meaning:I just see this song like the music video does (despite the random parkour! haha). I think it's a song about being able to change your fate. Where like 99% of most people would accept destiny, (possibly the lead singer thinks his time to shine is over?), but decides he really wants to change his fate. It could be translated over to anything though, even life and death.

General Comment:Wow...I can't put my thoughts into words, except that this song basically says "I'm not going down without a fight." Whatever the singer may be talking about, Drugs, peer pressure, death, Because I honestly have no clue which it might be...But these are some great (insightful) theories, guys! :)

General Comment:I agree with metallord09. To me, this song has "peer pressure" written all over it.

Looking back at the beginning of this
    And how life was
Just you and me and love and all of our friends
    Living life like an ocean
    (With friends enjoying life)
Now the currents slowly pulling me down
(Following the crowd is starting to hurt him)
    It's getting harder to breath
It won't be too long and I'll be going under
(He's in danger if he keeps on following the crowd)
Can you save me from this?

    (CHORUS)
    'Cause it's not my time,
    I'm not going
    There's a fear in me
    It's not showing
This could be the end of me
    And everything I know
    Oh, I won't go
(He's saying to his friends that he's not taking drugs or whatever they were doing)

I look ahead to all the plans that we made
And the dreams that we had
(They had plans for the future)
I'm in a world that tries to take them away
(So many things for him to get into that could ruin his dreams)
Oh, but I'm taking them back
(He's holding on to his dreams)
All this time I've just been to blind to understand
    What should matter to me
My friend, this life we live
Is not what we have, it's what we believe
(Being popular isn't worth losing your values)

    (CHORUS)

There might be more than you believe
(There might be more than you believe)
There might be more you can see
(There's more to life than you may think)

    (CHORUS)

There might be more than you believe
(There might be more than you believe)
There might be more than you can see

    But I won't go!
    No I wooooon't gooooo down!

So that's what I think it means- peer pressure

General Comment:I think this song can also relate to something in somebodies life that one point they were the best at (maybe a sport but on a high level) and then a new guy comes in and rises to the top taking your stop. But you are having one last shot to prove to the new guy that you are the man!

General Comment:this song is great... i think its about how you feel when it seems liike the world is against you and you feel like the world is coming down on you. Sometimes when you feel like shit you just wish you could die but this talks about getting through it cause u always can

My Interpretation:How about a new theory? This song is about drugs. The first part is talking about him remembering all the times before he got hooked. The he gets "slowly pulled down" and becomes addicted, and he is asking for help from someone(Can you save me from this) and he is explaining how it's not his time and he needs someone to help him to get better. might be wrong, but just my opinion.

General Comment:I think this song's main theme "It's Not My Time" was inspired by a car crash the singer Brad was in. I think it's his way of saying It's not my time to go, this could be the end of me, but I won't go... which he does say in the song. The first verse I think is about life as it was before the wreck (looking back at the beginning of this and how life was)and in the second verse it's like he realized what he could lose (I'm in a world that tries to take them -the dreams that we had- away) As for the bridge I think it's just a statment that there are forces greater than ourselves watching over us even in times like a car wreck.

General Comment:I always though it was pretty simple. Something very bad is about to happen, but the singer's not going to back down, fear be damned.
