Yeah it's still the same
Can't you feel the pain?
When the needle hits the vein
Ain't nuthin' like the real thing
I've seen it once before, and oh it's something else, Good God
Cool breeze come on in
Sunshine come on down
These are the teardrops of a clown
The circus is coming to town
All that I'm saying is sometimes I'm more scared of myself
You better (Move!)
I said (Move!)
Chorus:
Run away!
Run away!
Run children!
Run for your life!
Run away!
Run away!
Run children!
Here it comes, said run! Alright?
Yeah I'm on the run
See what I'm coming from
When you see me come and run
Before you see what I'm running from
No time for question asking, time is passing by. Alright!
You can't win child,
We've all tried too
You've been lied to
It's already inside you
Either you run right now, or you best get ready to die
You better (Move!)
I said (Move!)
Chorus
Hurry little children
Run this way
I have got a beast at bay
(Promise me when the chance comes
You'll run as fast as you can
Don't you dare look backwards
Run as fast as you can)
Run away!
Run away!
Run children!
Run for your life!
Run away!
Run away!

"When the needle hits the vein" verse sounds pretty obvious.
So, run away from it, children, run for your life. Or die using it...
the part where he's says "yea its still the same, cant you feel the pain when the needle hits the vein, aint nothin like real thing....ive seen it once before and oh its somethin else good god",
he's obviously referencing drug usage but you gotta put it into context with the rest of the song.
check it out....when you shoot heroin or something similar, its a great feeling -- not a bad one. so why does he ask "cant you feel the pain when the needle hits the vein", then? he's saying dont you see that this temporary pleasure that you're deriving from this is going to end in pain?
then he follows that up with "aint nothing like the real thing". this means you'll never get the happiness youre looking for through some drug induced high. the "real thing" he referrences is what i eluded to earlier -- Truth; knowledge of Self; union with God.
he finishes with "ive seen it once before and oh it's something else, good God". right there he's saying he's experienced that moment of clarity briefly and can vouche for the fact that drugs wont get you there and they dont compare to the peace of that experience.
he mentions this experience in the song "crazy" when he says "i remember when i lost my mind; there was something so pleasant about that space. even your emotions have an echo in so much space". he's describing that moment of clarity. he's not saying he lost his mind like he went crazy; this is evidenced by what he says after he says he lost his mind. if you go crazy, youre probably not going to be in a pleasant place. when he says he lost his mind, he means that never-ending track of

he's describing that moment of clarity. he's not saying he lost his mind like he went crazy; this is evidenced by what he says after he says he lost his mind. if you go crazy, youre probably not going to be in a pleasant place. when he says he lost his mind, he means that the never-ending, repetitious chatter of thoughts that usually plague most of us ceased for a period of time, and he was able to perceive what lies within us when that chatter stops.
this is the heart of religion/ spirituality (though its been well distorted) and is talked about by every enlightened being from the beginning of time -- from Jesus to Buddha. they all talked about meditation and finding a way to slip into that silence where you can unite with your source; the underlying essence of life....who we are in reality.
im not trying to sound like a scholar here, i dont even attempt to decipher most songs. but this subject i know well, and several of his songs make unmistakable referrences to spiritual truths. if you dont believe that, do some research on ceelo. he openly admits he's always been a spiritual guy. he was raised that way and its been a part of his music career dating back to the goodie mob. Peace.
Until a friend sent me "Going On", which caught my attention immediately with it's profound and straight to the point message, urging people to transcend the socially established mental framework and escape from it's limitations, reaching out for a superior plane of existence...Just like that, in the form of an extremely catchy, vigorous and rhythmical hymn!!!
Enchanted by the energetic provocation, I looked for "Crazy" immediately...and there you have it: "I remember when I lost my mind, there was something so pleasant about that place...". Once you've tuned into their wavelength (which may be easier or harder depending on how close your own actually is to the band's), their message just pours right into you with doubt at all about interpretation.
If any doubt is left...well...keep running!!!
with all due respect tho.
you dont really have to be the artist or the producer to know what "we are the champions" by Queen is all about. its self explanatory. thats how these songs are for me. maybe someday after you've realized that there's no lasting happiness or peace in physical existence, the words "you cant win child, we've all tried to, you've been lied to, its already inside you" will make perfect sense to you. then again a lot of people live out there lives chasing illusions til the day they die....which is okay too. everyones different like you said.
either way though it is open for interpretation, and if you believe it means something else with any real level of certainty then i respect that, and i'd be more than open to hear your take. if you dont have a definitive opinion, then perhaps you will forgive the condescending tone of my original post and try to absorb what i said and see if it dont actually make sense. regardless, i appreciate your comment. PEACE!
I just heard this song two days ago and it renewed my faith in today's music. I thought all new music coming out was crap but this song hit me like a title wave!
I had no time to run!!
The first "verse" is swapped with the second...
So it ends up being:
Yeah I'm On The run
See what I'm coming from
When you see me come and run
Before You See what I'm running from
No Time for question asking, time is passing by. Alright!
You can't win child,
We've all tried too
You've been lied to
It's already inside you
Either you run right now, or you best get ready to die
You Better (Move!)
I Said (Move!)
Chorus:
Run Away!
Run Away!
Run Children!
Run For Your Life!
Run Away!
Run Away!
Run Children!
Here It Comes, Said Run! Alright?
Yeah It's Still The Same
Can't you feel the pain?
When the needle hits the vain
Ain't nuthin' like the real thing
I've seen it once before, and oh it's something else, Good God
Cool breeze come on in
Sunshine come on down
These are the teardrops of a clown
The circus is coming to town
All that I'm saying is sometimes I'm more scared of myself
You Better (Move!)
I said (Move!)
Chorus
Hurry little children
Run this way
I have got a beast at bay
(Promise me when the chance comes
You'll run as fast as you can
Don't you dare look backwards
Run as fast as you can)
Run Away!
Run Away!
Run Children!
Run For Your Life!
Run Away!
Run Away!
Run Children!
Here It Comes, Said Run!
