One day we're gonna live in Paris I promise, I'm on it When I'm bringing in the money I promise, I'm on it I'm gonna take you out to club showcase We're gonna live it up I promise Just hold on a little more And every night we'll watch the stars They'll be out for us, they'll be out for us And every night, the city lights They'll be out for us, they'll be out for us One day we're gonna live in Paris I promise, I'm on it I'll find you that French boy You'll find me that French girl I promise, I'm on it So go and pack your bags for the long haul We're gonna lose ourselves I promise This time it's you and me for evermore And every night we'll watch the stars They'll be out for us, they'll be out for us And every night, the city lights They'll be out for us, they'll be out for us And every night we'll watch the stars They'll be out for us, they'll be out for us And every night, the city lights They'll be out for us, they'll be out for us

General Comment:This is one of my favorite songs. I get a bitter sweet feeling everytime I listen to it. I think it's about a person that always plays tricks on the other one. Like some kind of game. Maybe it's a woman singing about the woman that plays tricks on him all the time and she's saying that "you'll never get anything from her so why don't you take me instead?" Or what do you think? thetestking.biz/">testking | thetestking.biz/…">ccda | thetestking.biz/…">646-205 | thetestking.biz/…">642-384 | thetestking.biz/…">642-165 | thetestking.biz/…">642-982 | thetestking.biz/…">646-656 | thetestking.biz/…">650-297 |

My Interpretation:susiesutt is on the right track with this.

    "I promise-
Just hold on a little more-"

These lyrics right here really say what's going on in this song. The songwriter is saying to this person to hold on a little more. It's like a desperate attempt to try to keep her with him. The songwriter is trying desperately to promise the world, knowing that they can't provide it now, and it almost seems as if this person they're singing this to is about to leave. The fact that the words "I promise" are said over and over, it really shows the desperation in this guy's voice.

The melancholy message really stands out in the Aeroplane remix, give it a listen!

General Comment:I think it might have been inspired by the film 'Revolutionary Road' of Sam Mendes, starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet. Has anyone seen it? What do you think? The plot really matches these lyrics :)

General Comment:like Ed says most of their songs are just about escapism, not real world stuff because music is meant to be where you go to get away from all that stuff. I love the lines 'And every night we'll watch the stars, They'll be out for us, They'll be out for us, And every night, the city lights, They'll be out for us, They'll be out for us'

General Comment:This is a beautiful song from a man to a woman. They're going through hard times, but he loves her so much that he can stay strong for her. So strong in fact that he can promise her it will be over one day and good things and happiness are just around the corner. He just needs her to stay strong and patient for him too. Paris could be Paris literally, but it could also just represent all that he wants to and knows he will give to her one day...
By the way, there's a different version of it sung by a woman. It's absolutely stunning! It's called the aeroplane remix.

My Interpretation:With regards to the line

'I'll find you that French boy,
You'll find me that French girl'

He could possibly mean children with the other person in question, he wants a girl, she wants a boy, and they'll be French as they will be living in Paris etc.

General Comment:I think its about a guy that lives in Tijuana who went to paris and saw a store named antoine et lily and made a promise to this girl: that they would live in paris.

General Comment:I'm torn up about the french boy and french girl in question too. I can't decide whether it's
"I'll find you, that french boy,
You'll find me, that french girl"
    or
"I'll find you that french boy,
You'll find me, that french girl".
I'd rather it be the latter, suits the song better, but seeing as how the girl is singing, I think it's the former.

General Comment:i would venture to say that there is definitely something between the two people in the song, beyond friendship. the context is too romantic, and the fact that they aspire together indicates a unique connection.
