Have mercy on me, oh God
According to your unfailing love
According to your great compassion
Blot out my transgressions
Have mercy on me, oh God
According to your unfailing love
According to your great compassion
Blot out my transgressions

Would you create in me a clean heart, oh God?
Restore in me the joy of your salvation
Would you create in me a clean heart, oh God?
Restore in me the joy of your salvation

The sacrifices of our God
Are broken in a contrite heart
Against you and you alone
Have I sinned?
The sacrifices of our God
Are broken in a contrite heart
Against you and you alone
Have I sinned?

Would you create in me a clean heart, oh God?
Restore in me the joy of your salvation
Would you create in me a clean heart, oh God?
Restore in me the joy of my salvation

Wash me white as snow
And I will be made whole
Wash me white as snow
And I will be made whole
Wash me white as snow
And I will be made whole
Wash me white as snow

Would you create in me a clean heart, oh God?
Restore in me the joy of your salvation
Would you create in me a clean heart, oh God?
Restore in me the joy of your salvation

General Comment:When Jon Foreman makes the psalms into music...so good.

I know we don't know the actual music they were first put to, but I'm sure David would be pleased.

General Comment:Jon Foreman has stated that Keith Green is one of his musical influences.
And interestingly, Keith Green also wrote a wonderful song based off of Psalm 51 "Create in Me A Clean Heart."

I love Keith's version of the psalm. And I love Jon's version of the psalm. Wonderful.

General Comment:Yup, Psalm 51 - seems to be paraphrased slightly from the NIV. That's my favourite psalm for forgiveness.
