  General Comment:this song is deff one of my favorite songs.
  i think it is about a guy who likes a girl and he wants her to feel loved, he wants her to love her back. she does love him back, but just won't open up to him. He will tell her she's beautiful and she won't believe him. He tries to help her with all of her hurt, but she won't let him in, crushing him. all he wants is her to be happy, and she is hiding herself from him, making him desperate to figure out her emotions.
  wow, confusing, but it all makes sense.
  the sad thing is is that im that girl:/

  Love that line. Reminds me of an arguement I got in with my friend when she was saying how not pretty she is, I told her that I could certaintly think of someone who would disagree. (Meaning of course, the guy who likes her) She said something about 'well it's nice that he thinks that.' But I disagreed, maybe it's just me, but I've always thought that it's that one special person's opinion that decides it all, I mean if that one guy/girl thinks that of you, does anyone else's opinion even matter?
  Anywho, that's just what I always think of hearing this song. That he was trying to convince her of the beauty he sees in her.

  General Comment:i think it is about two people who are aquainted(sp?) and he obviously likes her and wants to get to know her better. but she on the other hand is scared, maybe from prior relationships. and he is kinda of a stranger and is a danger to her becuase he could end up hurting her. but all he wants so to be true to her and show her how beautiful she is. he obviously wants her and fanztizes(sp?) about her.
  
  i also agree with smiths meaning.
  
  this is my favorite secondhand serenade song, besides vulnerable.

  General Comment:This is the song that caught my attention when i listened to the cd for the first time. and i really think it can have different meanings for everyone but to me its all about seeing someone for the first time. seeing something that catches your eye and just wondering what could happen if you talked to them or met them.
  But i can also see it as two people together and he just wants her to know how beautiful he thinks she is.
  
  either way its a great song :D

    hayles89 I agree with you that he wants her to see how beautiful she is but is seems to me that he wants her to see her iner-beauty everything that you don't see but somehow he does and he wants to know more. It has a diffrent meaning for everyone especially because everyone is going through something diffrent.

  General Comment:This song is about letting people in
  In this song there are two people who deeply care about each other. One won't let the other in to help them. Something bad has happened to them but they won't let the other help, like a stranger. The hurt person is afraid to let the other person in because they think it will make the other think of them diffrently once they truly know each other "You call me a stranger, you say I'm a danger" The other person won't give up and eventually they are let in (figurativly of course) "But all these thoughts are leaving you tonight" They are afraid at first when the start to learn about the person's past and how it affected them "I'm confident, But I can't pretend I wasn't terrified to meet you" The person now truely knows them they want to help them through the hard times "Take a look at me so you can see..." They want the person to see everyting they need to see in them. "I know that I can't make you stay But I would give my final breath To make you understand how beautiful you are" The person knows they might not allways be together so befroe they part ways they want to show how much they care and understand.

  and you jsut love them so much but nothing will change how they can't open up
