[Wyclef Jean: Intro (Talking)]
Yeah, it's those Jersey boys

[Wyclef Jean: Verse 1]
I heard a man say +Jesus Walks+
Me, myself, I heard Jesus talk
Cause when I heard his beat I felt Jesus' force
I heard it +Through The Wire+ that he made it out the coma
From a fast car
It was a fast car
Yeah

[Wyclef Jean: Verse 2]
Everyday is like the wild wild west
Some of us are +Bad Boys+
Some of us are +Outlaws+
Unsolved mystery, the killer get away
L.A., Vegas, at the end of the day
In the fast car
Driving the fast car
Yeah

[Wyclef Jean: Hook]
You don't got to be no billionaire
To get a ticket up to the moon
We all know somebody up there
You need a helping hand, look, I'm right here
To help you see clearly now, yeah
To help you see clearly now, yeah
I hope you see clearly now
Yeah

[Wyclef Jean: Verse 3]
What would you do after your bachelor party?
In the bar celebrating with all your homies
Go outside, and you’re ready to ride
And over fifty-one shots but you ain't ready to die
In your fast car, yeah
In your fast car, whoa (Paul Simon talk to 'em)

[Paul Simon: Bridge]
When that fast car picks you up
You will have no choice
You may hear the tires screaming
But you will have no voice
But as the fast car picks you up
You will weep and smile
And see heaven in the headlights
Mile after, mile
After, mile after mile
(Yeah)

[Wyclef Jean: Hook]
You don't got to be no billionaire
To get a ticket up to the moon
We all know somebody up there
You need a helping hand? Look, I'm right here
To help you see clearly now, yeah
To help you see clearly now, yeah
I hope you see clearly now
Yeah

[Wyclef Jean: Verse 4]
Everybody need some TLC
So she headed to Honduras for some TLC (Tender Loving Care)
Yeah, having fun in Central America
Well she was a passenger, never a driver
In that fast car, yeah
Riding that fast car
Yeah

[Wyclef Jean: Verse 5]
Sweet sixteen, I see her leaving the scene
Crossing the street, she won't see seventeen
Blink of an eye, DWI
Hit and run, the assailant flees
In the fast car
Riding the fast car
Yeah

[Paul Simon: Bridge]
When that fast car picks you up
You will have no choice
You may hear the tires screaming
But you will have no voice
But as the fast car picks you up
You will weep and smile
And see heaven in the headlights
Mile after, mile
After, mile after mile
(Yeah)

[Wyclef Jean: Hook]
You don't got to be no billionaire
To get a ticket up to the moon
We all know somebody up there
You need a helping hand? Look, I'm right here
To help you see clearly now, yeah
To help you see clearly now, yeah
I hope you see clearly now
Yeah

[Scratching & Instrumental Interlude]

[Wyclef Jean: Hook]
You don't got to be no billionaire
To get a ticket up to the moon
We all know somebody up there
You need a helping hand? Look, I'm right here
To help you see clearly now, yeah
To help you see clearly now, yeah
I hope you see clearly now
Yeah

General Comment:Wyclef said in an interview that he wanted to communicate to his young relatives about straightening out their lives so he did it in a format that they would understand, in the videogames that they play. The video clip straightens out a lot of the meaning because there's little cartoons of tupac and that on there as he's singing mixed in with the Burnout Paradise story arc.

General Comment:Yeah nickyC1, the third verse with the 51 shots being fired, that IS about SEAN BELL, not Biggie Again. The cops saw him reach into his pocket to get his keys, so he could drive his car after his bachelor party, hence the "go outside, you ready to ride" party. Its very obvious that you have no clue what you're talking about. And get your shit straight if your trying to make yourself looks cool and bad ass and tell someone else off.

General Comment:alright what this song means to me... essentially i agree with freshlikeuhhn about the verses... but however the whole song is sayin that you should get your life sraight before its to late and how he's there to help out and make people see clearly now that they're not always promised tomorrow.

General Comment:Funny you call it self explanatory OhSweetArsenic when your meaning gets most of it wrong. In the beggining it is about Kanye West. Then its about Notorious Big and how he got shot in Vegas then Tupac. And the guy who crashed at a bachelor party? You are COMPLETELTY wrong. He mentions 51 shots but you aint ready to die. Im from New York so i know all about this story. Sean Bell was leaving his bachelor party and cops thought they saw him draw a gun and they fired 51 shots at him. Get your shit straight before you call it self explanatory

General Comment:verse one: kanye and his car accident
    verse two: biggie and tupac
verse three: sean bell killed by nypd undercovers
verse four: left eye of TLC car crash
verse five: 16 year old girl being killed by drunk driver

fast car being death, you cant stop it and dont know when it is coming.

it is one thing everybody has in common, one day you will die no matter how much money you have

General Comment:I think the "ain't ready to die"
and "Some of us are +Bad Boys+" are clear references to Notorious BIG
