I know your not ready to live
Are you ready to die?
'Cause under your skin under your skin under skin
Is a regular guy

You lost your hold
You didn't know
This is a low

Everything that was important to me
Didn't matter to you
And you didn't try didn't try try to follow me
When I turned my back you followed someone new

You stole your mind
You didn't know
This is a low, this is a low

This is low this is low life
A world where people walk by night
So by day an average man
But night time brings the creature from the can
Sometimes you scream out loud
But there's always safety in a crowd
You're not alone you're not alone you know

This is a low,
This is a low,
This is a lonely time a lonely time,
A lonely time
(x2)

Its like my skin, turned inside out
And there's no silver here in this cloud
It's like a love that's turning sour
It's letting go
This is a low

This is low this is low life
A world where people walk by night
So by day an average man
But night time brings the creature from the can
Sometimes you scream out loud
But there's always safety in a crowd
You're not alone you're not alone you know

This is a low (this is a low)
This is a low (this is a low)
This is a low (this is a low)
This is a low (this is a low)
This is a low (this is a low)
This is a low (this is a low)
This is a low (this is a low)
This is a low (this is a low)

this reminds me of my friends in the music industry, especially ones i've dated. they really would love to lead this normal life, stress free from the business, but get sucked right back in.. and it kind of leaves friendships and relationships tattered and torn because they could never truly be normal.

Can't beleive nobody has commented. This song is actually beautiful, I think it's about feeling really down, maybe about a broken relationship? All I know is that I love it!

The best part of this song is the first line and the chorus.

    My Opinion

"I know your not ready to live Are you ready to die"

That's such a powerful line. I have 0% clue as to what this song means, but it still touches my heart. It's the kind of song where you can't just interpret it from the lyrics' point of view. You have to hear the music.

the song tells you what it means... "Its letting go This is a low"

it's about getting over somebody or "letting go" it's about how the person they loved didnt turn out how they expected. this song is relevent to anyone and anyone can make it personal. thats why it's so beautiful :)

    My Interpretation

It sounds like a song about someone wanting to commit suicide and the singer is trying to talk him out of it.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
