I think this song has a lot of emotion in every word.
Actually, I feel like this song is about someone who feels like they're superior in comparison to everyone else and shoots other people down, to make themselves feel better. All they do is talk themselves up and never listen to what anyone else has to say.

I think that's about her feeling like she can't match up to that person. That they're making her feel inadequate...she's trying to reach up to the person, but it's too hard to because the person feels like he's too good for her.

I think 'silence your harsh words my dear' is her telling the person to stop being so critical of her and her dreams. All she can think about is all the the negative things that this person has said about her and her aspirations and it's making her feel like she can't achieve what she wants to achieve.
