I don't know about any of you, but this song definitely makes me think of Robot Santa from Futurama. Merry XMAS! haha....

urhm, I guess there are hundreds of different meanings there could be, they probably didn't even go for a serious meaning, just a pretty darn awesome song :D.
I guess it's up to the listenener to image in create a story by listening, I personally think it's:
About a boy who grew up being picked on his whole life & teased, and he always just tolerated it, but one day he snapped & shot people because he'd been bullied so much. & the only person he ever considered nice to him was santa cause he didnt judge him as a kid, then one day he let santa down :}
lol, just a random story I associated with the song!

I don't think it's necessarily about pedophilia, or anything particularly serious. It's a damn funny song, true Killers style - sounds like it's light and fun (especially being a Christmas song about Santa) but the lyrics are morbid, about a serial killer and a man out for justice. I love it. That said, if you've seen the video, "Santa" looks like a nutter that's decided to go out for his own kind of justice. That could be the joke here... especially having seen that episode of Futurama where Robot Santa takes it upon himself to kill anyone on the "naughty" list if he sees them out on Christmas Eve.

I love this song.
I had a thought that it might be something to do with pedophilia or something.
Just a passing thought as I was listening to the part where it says "but the children on the block, they tease me."

i dont really think this song has a deep, dark meaning. i just think they wrote it as a fun song, w/ a funny idea, like santa shooting someone...lol. and i love the video/ the way brandon sings/acts in it haha awesome song, not much to decipher

This song is easy to decipher I think.

It's basically about this boy who grew up in an innocent lifestyle but had to take revenge sometimes. He uses an analogy - comparing Santa Claus as a Naughty Judge to anyone in real life probably the authorities.

all about misunderstood childhoods.

Great friggen song. A kid that goes out to "kill for fun", gets justice by Santa. Or at least he begs Santa for fogiveness, when he wants to take out the kids that have given him a hard year.

I think the misconception is that "Santa" was a normal person, who couldn't possibly understand what this kid actually went through.

This song is kinda a weird one...

What I got out of it is that it's a boy who used to be made fun of but was nice but then he shot up his school or something and now (for some reason) Santa's going to shoot him so he's trying to bargain with Santa and explain himself but Santa won't listen.

"Life is hard, but look at me I turned out alright."
This seems kinda ironic because Santa is saying that he turned out all right at the same time that he's about to kill someone.

It was leaked onto youtube. It'll be released for radio Nov. 26 and on Nov. 27 it will be available to download on itunes. The cd with the song and video will be in stores Dec. 4. Please do buy it, either the download or cd as The Killers made this song and video for charity.

Ha funny song and funny video. I couldn't make out a part right after "Bullet in your what?!" So if anyone can find that out for me then I'll revise the lyrics. Also I didn't know how to spell "mohobey" lol
