  Song Meaning:The interpretation that it'z about dealing with drug or alcohol abuse and the behavior of so-called and true friends is also the one I came up with.
  
  But I was wondering if the "everyone" in "everyone thinks you're amazing" could mean that the person in this song is a celebrity. If that were be the case I would tip it's about Robert Downey Jr..

  My Interpretation:Perhaps the song is saying that no matter what she does , she is still astonishingly impressive in who she is . People tend to give recognition to those who are always seemingly on top of things, and who always put a "strong face " on, however, being amazing doesn't have to involve perfection, it has to involve getting through life with a certain optimism or resilient attitude which is what makes the person amazing - the ability to conquer everything, not the ability or falsity to lie and pretend that everything is okay, when it is not. The person who is amazing ,though, needs to realize that her expectations about her own talents and skills shouldn't rely on other peoples opinions and feedback, because they will soon leave, and if she doesn't keep her own image alive, then she will fall down, as many times as people leave her, which will be always - except one person, who thinks shes amazing because he loves her enough to watch her fall and get back up.

  General Comment:i first heard this song on victorias secret and when seal was singing it, it also makes sense that he's singing it about the models... and more so his wife, Heidi Klum.
  and the song talks about how hard it was for Heidi to get to the top, and now that she is at the top, everyone says she's amazing even though they may have doubted her before. and seal is saying that he is a real friend and he knows what she's been through.
  
  another take is that everyone says that the models are amazing, even though they have no knowledge about what their life was like growing up and what trauma's they've suffered "Only you know who the real ones are cause you’ve seen".
  
  but the drugs thing makes a lot of sense too
  that was just my take on it

  General Comment:aak, drug ideas. understand the references but i can never believe them completely.
  
  strikes me as someone who used to be looked down on/worse off than others finally "becomes clean" and suddenly popular. but most of the people are only friends because of the new status, and Seal's saying the real friends were the ones who thought the person was amazing BEFORE they were popular.

  General Comment:music is great because it touches different emotions for different people.
  
  While i knew he was talking about addiction when i first heard this song , what originally struck me was the feeling of being told you're amazing (or beautiful or talented or strong) but never truly believing it. That's an issue in addiction and in life. I think the person we're harshest on and most afraid of confronting is ourselves, that probably everyone faces self hatred at some point.
  
  You should feel amazing all the time, even when you falter and sometimes fail. It's a part of you, you're still amazing.
