Ooh, ooh

It's been the longest winter without you
I didn't know where to turn to (ooh, ooh-oh)
See somehow I can't forget you
After all that we've been through (ooh, ooh-oh)

Going, coming
Thought I heard a knock (whose there? no one)
Thinking that (I deserve it)
And now I realize that I really didn't know (oh-ooh)

If you didn't notice
You mean everything (quickly, I'm learning)
To love again (all I know is)
I'ma be okay (oh ooh-oh)

Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals too
Oh yeah (it'll all get better in time)
Even though I really love you
I'm gonna smile 'cause I deserve too
Ooh-ooh (it'll all get better in time)

How could I turn on the TV? (no, ooh-oh)
Without somethin' that'll remind me (ooh, ooh-oh)
Was it all that easy? (ooh, ooh-oh)
To just put aside your feelings (ooh, ooh-oh)
If I'm dreamin'
Don't want to let it (hurt my feelings)
But that's the past (I believe it)
And I know that, time will heal it (ooh, ooh-oh)

If you didn't notice
Well you mean everything (quickly I'm learning)
Ooh, to love again (all I know is)
I'ma be okay (ooh, ooh-oh)

Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals, too
Oh yeah (it'll all get better in time)
Even though I really love you
I'm gonna smile 'cause I deserve too
Oh (it'll all get better in time)

Since there's no more you and me (no more you and me)
It's time I let you go so I can be free (ooh, ooh-oh)
And live my life how it should be (no no no, no no no)
No matter how hard it is, I'll be fine without you
Yes I will

Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals, too
Oh, ooh-oh (it'll all get better in time)
Even though I really love you
I'm gonna smile 'cause I deserve too (yes I do)
(It'll all get better in time)

Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals, too
Yes (it'll all get better in time)
Even though I really love you (ooh, ooh, ooh)
I'm gonna smile 'cause I deserve too
Oh (it'll all get better in time)

Even though I really love you, I'm gonna smile because I deserve to...

Some of the best lyrics to describe what it's like to get over someone you really loved... this song is obviously about letting time heal a broken heart. It's about knowing the pain is okay, and that in time, you'll smile again. All you can do during the pain is remember that time will make it easier.

This song reminds me of Peter Pan. Haha, seriously. Wendy likes Peter but has to leave him to face fate and grow up.

Such a beautiful song that sums up the situation of trying to let go and forget someone perfectly. Comforting, too, because you know you're not alone, and that soon, without even knowing it, you will be over it. It will just take its time...

This song to me is about getting over someone. Even though it hurts. You don't want to let go of them but, you know it is in your best interest. I also think it means that all wounds will heal with time.

there's still love that lingers even when she knows that she can't be with him anymore for any reason. it's for her own good and she's trying to be fine with being apart from him and it hurts like hell and sometimes looking back is so tempting cause it immediately brings smiles to her face but like its start, it quickly dies after the truth flashes back in her head and she realizes that she can't do that. my god it hurts like hell and i can relate so much to this song. i miss him too. lol

i love this song! when it was overplayed on the radio last summer, i got annoyed by it. but a year later... ive been collecting songs that i can really relate to for a while, and this is one of them. i agree, it's more than just a love song. as a love song, it really can help u get over a break up. but it has a great meaning and is actually really inspirational. -Kelsey

I feel totally diffeent about this song. Its about wanting someone so bad that the thought of him not being there is pain in pain itself.

Knowing that things are over just double the pain, i think they still talk to eachother and she hides her feelings. By the longest winter without you i think it means its been not having you be where you were previously.

I think shes split and shes trying to convince herself things happened for a reason shes trying to convince herself it'll be okay..

I love this song so much it hurts... im in a situation like this.. i want him so much but....theres a but..lol

I am ashamed to admit I like this song. I normally hate this kind of music. But it resonates with me somehow.

I LOOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEE this song!!!!!! I think you can take this song as being for a boyfriend, girlfriend, close friend, just a loved one in general. I think the way you take and interpret a song is by experiences and how a song gets to you and what emotions it brings out in you. I think song is beautiful. Its so sad but also gives hope too. I think this song is about letting time heal a broken heart. And how much it hurts to go through that process but knowing that you'll be alright at the end. The part that goes "going coming thought I heard a knock, who's there? no one. " How sad is that? it brought a little tear to my eye. what i think that part is about, is that in everything you do you can't forget that loved one. You just hope that they'll come back. Every knock on the door, or maybe every time you're phone rings or you get a text message or whatever, you just hope and hope its that person but its not. And in this song leona keeps bringing out all these pains that come with this healing process but backs it up with a little hope..."Thought i couldn't live without you(basically that person was you're everything) its gonna hurt when it heals too ( showing how much love you had) it'll all get better in time (there comes the hope, yes it hurts but it'll get better) even though i really love you, i'm gonna smile cuz i deserve too (how hard must that be! you love this person soooo much and you know its over but you also know you deserve to smile)" I think one of the hardest things is experiencing what Leona sings in that ending part. "since there's no more you and me, its time i let you go so i can be free. and live my life how it should be. no matter how hard it is i'll be fine without you! Yes I will!!" You know its the end okay and your love for this person was soooo strong, that person was your all, your everything, you never thought there wouldnt be the day that you didn't wake up to THEIR "good morning" or would never hear THEIR "hey :)" or "i love you" but now thats reality and as HARD it is you gotta go on with your life and let them go, but as unrealistic as it sounds you know you'll be okay

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
