The question asked in order
"To save her life or take it"?
The answer no avoid the death
And yes would make it
Do you believe in God?
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
And my sister Cassie pulled it
They didn't love their lives so much
As to shrink from death
Inspired in their footsteps
We will march ahead
Don't be shocked that people die
Be surprised you're still alive
All heads are bowed in silence, reverence
The floor is wet with tears of sorrow for remembrance
The alters filled with hearts of repentances
Perfect love kills all fear
Rejoice in this deliverance
They didn't love their lives so much
As to shrink from death
Inspired in their footsteps
We will march ahead
Don't be shocked that people die
Be surprised you're still alive

Don't be shocked that people die
Be surprised you're still alive
this song really reminded me of 1:always stand for wat u believe in and 2:you should be thankful that you are still alive
I thought the line "Do you believe in God written on a bullet" meant like..
God is the only one who should have the power to take likfe away ect..
the lyric 'don't be shocked that people die, be surprised you're still alive' is probably the most powerful because it ties the song together. be surprised you're still alive! it could've been you on the killing spree.
Do you believe in God?
Written on the bullet (they asked her)
Say yes to pull the trigger
And my sister Cassie pulled it (she said yes [and i'm just guessing on this] because she believe, not only in God, but that if they did kill her she would be with God, like, 'go ahead! shoot me!')
and i love that lacey says 'sister' cassie.
this song is so powerful, i just love it. flyleaf is such a strong band.
I Like the Acoustic better, hence, this one.
This 1 i think means about how, the guys who killed the 12 students and 1 teacher.
"They didn't love their lives so much
As to shrink from death
Inspired in their footsteps
We will march ahead
Don't be shocked that people die
Be surprised you're still alive"
Lassie is trying to say, that Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold didn't love theire lives
so they went on a killing spree, and then commeted sucide. So Inspired by the victims, and ,yes, the
killers, we will learn from their mistakes. We shouldnt be suprised that people are dying, but that
there is so much of killing going on, we should be suprised that we are still alived.
"Don't be shocked that people die, be surprised you're still alive"
By the way... I can't help it here...
"God is worth dying for because he died for us before we even knew him."
No he didn't... I'm pretty sure the Bible states it was in fact Jesus who died for us... God never died. Sheesh... I don't even follow Christianity and I know that... I don't follow any religion come to think of it...
As for the part about who Cassie was. The event that this song is supposed to be about never took place during the columbine shootings.
I don't know how much I believe in all that, but I just wanted to straighten out any confusions you may have had. At least with how I was raised in the Catholic Church, it makes sense.

God is worth dying for because he died for us before we even knew him.
