Last night, I got served, a little bit too much of that poison baby
Last night, I did things I'm not proud of, and I got a little crazy
Last night, I met a guy on the dance floor, and I let him call me 'baby'

And I don't even know his last name
My momma would be so ashamed
It started out "hey cutie, where you from?"
Then it turned into "oh no! what have I done?"
And I don't even know his last name

He left, the club, about around three o'clock in the morning
His Pinto, is sitting there in the parking lot, when it should of been a warning
I had no clue, what I was getting into, so I blame it on the Cuervo
Oh where did my manners go

And I don't even know his last name
My momma would be so ashamed
It started off "hey cutie, where you from?"
And then it turned into "oh no! what have I done?"
And I don't even know his last name, oh here we go

Today, I woke up, thinkin' 'bout Elvis, somewhere in Vegas I'm not sure
How I got here, or how this ring on my left hand just appeared
Outta nowhere, I gotta go, take the chips, and the Pinto, and hit the road
They say what happens here, stays here,
All of this will disappear, but there's just one little problem

I don't even know my last name
My momma would be so ashamed
It started off "hey cutie, where you from?"
And then it turned into "oh no! what have I done?"
And I don't even know my last name

What have I done, what have I done, what have I done
Well what have I done, I don't even know my last name
And it turned into "oh no! what have I done?"
And I don't even know my last name

It started off "hey cutie, where you from?"
And then it turned into "oh no! what have I done?"
And I don't even know my last name

General Comment:I always figured this song was something of a joke, certainly wouldn't take it seriously and I wouldn't expect anyone else to see it as a model of something one should do. I don't get the impression this is something Carrie Underwood has done either.

The whole trope of her not even knowing his last name as a symbol for him being a total stranger is played out when she wakes up married to him and realizes that not only does she not know his last name, but she married him so now she doesn't know hers either.

It's silly, ridiculous and a funny way to tell it.

My Opinion:So yes this song is talking about sex, alcohol, and having a wild night out. Myself being a christian think this isn't the best Carrie Underwood song. She is describing a situation that most girls put themselves into many of times. I am pretty sure Carrie is NOT talking about herself in this song. She is an amazing singer and I love her music. She has great songs and most have very good meanings and are usually about God which is fantastic I am all for that. Like "So Small", "Jesus Take the Wheel", "Temporary Home", and "Mama's Song".

General Comment:the meaning of this song is pretty straightforward if you ask me but apparently some people don't understand all it. For example when it says I'll blame it on the Cuervo it's talking about an alcoholic drink: Jose Cuervo. And for all of you that are insulting her music, apparently some people like it and it really gets on my nerves when people dis the music they don't like. Obviously not everyone likes the same kind of music or else there'd be no genres, just one type of music. So you don't like the music, no ones gonna make you listen to so just get over it and deal. God, seriously people.

General Comment:I don't understand two things.... 1) why people are really analyzing this song line by line. I'm pretty sure it's clear what this song is about... lol. and 2) why are people, who don't even like carrie underwood, are on here talking crap? Seriously... get a life! lol if you don't like her... don't be looking up her lyrics and commenting. Why don't you either comment on lyrics you DO like .... or get a hobby.

General Comment:I think this song is about how she drank too much, and she ended up going home with some guy, and when she woke up the next morning, she realizes she doesn't even know his last name (hence what she says numerous times throughout the song) and she discovers a ring on her finger, (which you have to think about a little bit, but she's "somewhere in Vegas" so she got married to him while drunk in Vegas). And now she doesn't know her own last name because obviously it would be the same as his, which she never found out. The rest is fairly obvious.

To the people arguing: You will never meet any of the people that you're arguing with. So many people keep saying "I hate Carrie Underwood"... so why are you looking at the meanings to her song???

I don't want to start a fight, I just want people to see how ridiculous some of the things they are saying sound. I don't mean any of this in a harsh way, comprende?

P.S. I like this song, it's great to sing along to!
