Lately nothing passes lightly
A heavy hand is holding me down
A breeze is just an unfamiliar sound to me
Just close the door
(It's all coming back to me)
Be still, my heart
('Cause it's all coming back)
Just close the door
(It's all coming back to me)
Be still, my heart
('Cause it's all coming back)
Lately nothing passes by me
And every hand is pulling me down
And praise is just an unfamiliar sound to me
Just close the door
(It's all coming back to me)
Be still, my heart
('Cause it's all coming back)
Just close the door
(It's all coming back to me)
Be still, my heart
('Cause it's all coming back)
Ooh, just close the door
It's all coming back
Ooh, just close the door
'Cause it's all coming back
All this meaningless direction
Feels like it pulls me away
It's hard to just forget what they say to me
Just close the door
(It's all coming back to me)
Be still, my heart
(It's all coming back)
Just close the door
(It's all coming back to me)
Be still, my heart
('Cause it's all coming back)

Just a thought in passing, but since TBM seems to be influenced by japanese culture, the whole "close the doors" thing made me think about the hikikomori phenomenon. You know, it's those people who shut themselves in their house or room because of depression or social pressure. Well, I might be completely off the mark though.
to me it sounds like the person has lived happily for a long time after escaping a horrible life. and lately something has changed and she has started to remember and possibly re-live the trauma she went through a long time ago.
"lately, nothing passes lightly" here 'lately' shows that she hasnt always felt like this. and 'nothing passes lightly' which could mean that everyday things that usually 'pass lightly' have started reminding her of her past.
"a heavy hand is holding me down" the heavy hand of her past keeps her depressed and thinking about it.
"just close the door" this could be her hopelessly wanting to shut out everyone else as she falls into depression. or it could be her trying to close her mind and stop the painful memories from coming back.
"cause its all coming back" yeah, basically, its all coming back.
"and praise is just an unfamiliar sound to me" shows how she is going back to her scarred state of mind, where she is never praised and cant imagine it.
god i feel sorry for her. haha
"I feel like it's about depression or something like BPD."
out of pure curiosity, i'm wondering why bi-polar disorder came to mind?
i agree, though, i definitely get a depression vibe from. ''it's all coming back to me" perhaps a spot of post trauma memories?
"it's hard to forget what they say to me" -it's in ones nature to take things personally and internalize things when in a depressed state.
"all this meaningless direction feels like it pulls me away" -feeling pulled down
"breeze is just an unfamiliar sound, to me" -breeze is a soft wind. it's unusual when you feel like you're in the middle of a storm.
i think the rest was summed up by lyvingdeaddoll: ''it's about just feeling like the weight of the world is crushing you.''
And then the chorus is someone remembering/ dwelling on something bad that's happened, or having her depression come back ["It's all coming back to me"], and the character being nervous at what'll happen next (maybe her depression causes her to do things that later on she realizes could have killed her) ["Be still my heart, cause it's all coming back."]
And then, because she's all depressed, she finds no meaning in anything anymore, and her apathy causes everyone talks crap about her ["All this meaningless direction feels like it pulls me away/
It's hard to just forget what they say to me."]
And then she's back to being depressed.
The character in the song needs drugs.
Seriously.
Good song though.
