Was it in the cold of that knife you screwed?
In the heart of the enduring
'Cause when you opened that door, you knew,
well now there'd be no returning
or room to mourn what we have lost
to wait while the willing, as you're the Hound of Blood & Rank,
and boy, you've got another thing coming.

Come on, come on, come on, you've got to give it to me.
As though you want it to. Come on and set me free.

I'll dig it till we've made your grave. Oh, you've been a bad, bad boy.
I'll cut it 'til I carve it out and stick it in a sad, sad song. N-n-no, no, no.
Why the bother, you're no brother. You're the wrong I need.
Boy, we all found an audience, while you found the worst of me.
You got another thing.

Put 'em up against the wall, now they're all of no use to you.
God, it's time for the curing, only you're in for that big refuse.
Surprise, boy! This tide's come a turning. No room to mourn what you have lost.
On, no waiting while the willing, poor little hound of blood and rank,
who deserves every ounce of what's coming.

We caught you on the wrong side of lying,
within the dust we left you dying, if only words can keep you hiding.
Well go on, cowards we've offed you, cowards we've offed you.

I hope your life's a living hell.
It's all on you, boy. It's all on you, boy.
It's all on you, boy. It's all on you, boy.
It's all on you, boy. It's all on you, boy.
It's all on you, boy.

My Interpretation:Here's what this song means to me:

Claudio Kilgannon is leading an attack on the Red Army, with Sizer, Chase and a bunch of other people. They fight hard, but lose. They're cornered and about to be killed, when Sizer steps forward and decides he's going to repay Claudio for rebuilding him in IKSOSE3. Claudio tries to stop him, that's what all the stuff referring to brothers means.

Sizer, having been raised by Jesse, of course chooses to ignore Claudio and starts to change into that big-ass thing he turns into, which i'm guessing is The Hound. Sizer tells Claudio to run, because he's the one who is to kill Wilhelm Ryan. Claudio does, leaving Sizer to fight off the Reds. Sizer fights hard, until Mayo Deftinwolf appears. Sizer goes after him for revenge about Jesse's death. The battle is epic, but Sizer loses. As he turns back to normal, he sees his death, but knows he has helped Claudio and the entire Heaven's Fence. He smiles and says about Claudio " It's all on you, Boy", as he is killed by Mayo

General Comment:Is this song perhaps about something that Sizer has done? Presumably, after Jesse dies in From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness Sizer takes his place in command of The Pioneers (Jesse's child army of superior IRO-Bots). However, Sizer could be struggling now with the fact that in creating IRO-Bots in the first place Dr. Hohenberger and eventually Jesse were defying God, and then he turned them all into soldiers, effectively enslaving them in a parallel situation to Supreme Tri-Mage Wilhem Ryan enslaving humans. Claudio Kilgannon too, we can guess, is some kind of an IRO-Bot, as his parents were two of the original three, KBI. And in an earlier song, 'No World for Tomorrow' there are some battle cries going on, but at the same time there's that little side dialogue of 'you've been their plaything!' If in that song someone was convincing Sizer (or he convinced himself, looking on at his brothers and sisters chanting battle cries) that Claudio, this supposed Crowing, was not going to lead them on to the freedom they should seek, but he was using them just like Dr. Hohenberger had used them, as a brute force for revenge.

So maybe what's happening is Sizer accusing Claudio of betraying his IRO-Bot brothers and sisters, and that he refuses to let them be sicced into senseless wars anymore; more importantly, wars that promise them no freedom or rights after it all ends. He could either be warning Claudio of this, or just thinking of his decision to break from Claudio's and Mariah's movement and establish his own in the interest of IRO-Bots, and force will be used if necessary ('you've found the worst in me, you've got another thing coming'). It seems like at this point Sizer is fed up with being denied, and we can see where there is a rift in what was once an equal alliance ('you're no brother'; 'you're the Hound of Blood and Rank') when each character only thinks of his own best interests.

My Interpretation:I agree this song is definitely about mayo but i have a different interpretation perhaps its about claudio, sizer, and chase fighting mayo and gaining the upper hand the lyrics poor little hound of blood and rank, who deserves every ounce of what's coming seems to support this then they leave him dying and set thier sights on Ryan does this make sense?

General Comment:i disagree that this is about apollo. i feel it is about Mayo Deftinwolf, calling him a hound is a metaphor for him being used as an enforcer by Wilhelm Ryan(analgous to "releasing the hounds). As for the "blood and rank" portion, we know that Mayo has caused alot f bloodshed, and is obssesed with his rank as the leader of the red army.

General Comment:i have a couple of problems with the "sizer" thory. if he is indeed fighting mayo why would mayo say "cowards WEVE offed you"? i think its more al the killer with a new character, the hound, searching for The crowing. that absolves alot of the problems ive had with it, but im still struggling with the womans voice at the end. another thing is if it were sizer and chase urging claudio on thorugh the house atlantic why would they say "i hope you die tonight"?

General Comment:oh also the beginning is speaking of their entrance to the House Atlantic, and Claudio telling them that theres no time to mourn all of the people that died to get them to where they are.

General Comment:I think the popular theory that it is about Sizer fighting Mayo is correct. Mayo killed Jesse who was Sizer's "father", and Sizer faught hard for Jesse's affection.

It would make sense that Sizer looses and is captured by Mayo. The last lyrics are probably Sizer and chase calling to Claudio, saying he's the only one left. Its all on you boy.

Calling Claudio "Boy" is more emphasis on the fact that Claudio has yet to completely mature, but will very soon in the story.

    General Comment:Just suggesting this:

Break the stanzas into complete lines.
Now ignore how Claudio accents his sentences, and read it again.

You can put them together differently.

...waiting while the willing, poor, little hound of blood and rank.. (Who) deserves every ounce of what's coming

General Comment:interp: read each song off NWFT to see where we are so far

claudio, chase and sizer enter house atlantic for the first time. claudio knows there is no going back now. straight away they are met by mayo, and very calmly, sizer lets claudio go onward through atlantic. he and chase stay behind and sizer begins to transform in order to fight mayo

my evidence for this is how we know jesse brought him up. he is second to the beast coheed, just as chase is second to the knowledge cambria. he can transform into this 'hound' just as coheed could mentally become the monstar. but i think sizer's transformation is physical [the running free artwork]

mayo taunts him and this song is roughly based on the fight between them. i think in the end, chase and sizer are defeated and captured by mayo. mayo tells them its all their fault, and as they re taken for assasination, he damns mayo to hell
