Yeah.
And you say Chi city, chi city, chi city.

(Chorus) [Chris Martin]
I'm coming home again
Do you think about me now and then?
Do you think about my now and then?
Cause I'm coming home again
-ming home again.

(Verse 1) [Kanye West]
Chi-town. Uh.
I met this girl when I was three years old.
And what I love most, she had so much soul
She said "Excuse me little homie, I know you don't know me
But my name is Windy, and yo, I like to blow trees"
And from that point I never blow her off
Cousins come from out of town, I like to show her off
They like to act tough, she like to tow em off
And make em straighten up they hat cuz she know they soft
And when I grew up, she show me how to go downtown
And in the nighttime, her face lit up, so astounding
I told her, in my heart is where she'll always be
She never mess with entertainers cuz they always leave
She said it felt like they walked and drove on me
Knew I was gang affiliated, got on tv, and told on me
I guess that's why last winter she got so cold on me
She said "keep makin' that, keep makin' that platinum and gold for me"

(Chorus) [Chris Martin]
Do you think about me now and then?
Do you think about me now and then?
'Cause I'm coming home again
-ming home again

Do you think about me now and then?
Do you think about me now and then?
Oh, now I'm coming home again
Maybe we could start again

(Verse 2) [Kanye West]
But if you really care for her,
Then you wouldn't've never hit the airport to follow your dream
Sometimes I still talk to her
But when I talk to her,
It always seems like she just talk about me
She said, "You left your kids and they just like you
They wanna rap and make soul beats just like you
But they just not you, and I just got through
Talkin' bout what he tryina do, just not new"
Now everybody got the game figured out all wrong
I guess you never know what you got 'til it's gone
I guess that's why I'm here and I can't come back home
And guess when I heard that, when I was back home
Every interview I'm representing you, makin' you proud
Reach for the stars, so when you fall you land on a cloud
Jumpin' in crowds, sparkin' lighters, wave em around
If you don't know by now, I'm talkin' bout Chi-town

(Chorus) [Chris Martin]
Do you think about me now and then?
Do you think about me now and then?
'Cause I'm coming home again,
-ming home again

Maybe do you remember when, fireworks at Lake Michigan?
Oh! Now I'm coming home again
-ming home again

Maybe do you remember when, fireworks at Lake Michigan?
Oh! Now I'm coming home again
Maybe we can start again

Loyee oyee oh, loyee oyee oh
Coming home again
Loyee oyee oh, loyee oyee oh
Coming home again
Maybe we can start again

My Interpretation:This song is Kanye describing his relationship with Chicago, the city, which is personified as Wendy, a play on words, Windy, as in the windy city.

"Excuse me little homie, I know you don't know me
But my name is Wendy, and yo, I like to blow trees"

Kanye leaves to pursue his dreams, but he always has Chicago in his heart.

"If you don't know by now, I'm talkin' bout Chi-town"

General Comment:i wonder that was kanye's combination with adam levine (maroon 5) was better in the song heard'em say (late registration) or with chris martin (coldplay) in this song homecoming (graduation)..Well the subjects are obviously different but still after this song issue rises of comparing both of them

My Opinion:I don't generally like Kanye West, but I really liked this song.

The part about fireworks at Lake Michigan reminds me of when I used to go up north during the summers.

General Comment:Chi-Town=Chicago...that's what people here call it. (I live here)

    My town :)

Makes me happy to live here...This song helped me realize beauty of it,as dumb as that sounds. but you know, you always take granted of where you live, but it's really an amazing city.

& I love the Windy City part :) (im wendy & i like to blow trees)

& i love chris martins voice too!

    General Comment:hehe
    Chi-Town, not Sha-town. It's a nickname for Chicago, yes :)

It is blatantly obvious, but that being said I didn't catch it for a long time. Whole new song after that.

I initially took it as an actual girl that was just incidentally connected with the city. But there is no Wendy, it's just Windy. Awesome.

General Comment:This whole song is about Kanyes past and how he grew up. The song is a big metaphor where he gives Chicago life and tells about how much chicago taught him.

"But my name is Windy, and yo, I like to blow trees" -Chicago is nick named the Windy City

"And make em straighten up they hat cuz she know they soft"- Talking about how people, 'gangsters' would come to Chicago and try to act tough but the city as a whole would make them realize that they arent.

"Every interview I'm representing you, makin' you proud"- Hes giving shout outs to his home town
