I've stuck around, through thick and through thin
You cannot deny, I've always been in
But I've watched you stand, still as a snowman
But I don't see you change, you're always at meltdown

Yeah I've been your crutch, your smell sight and touch
Yeah I took you home when you've drunk too much
But I can't survive, with you by my side
See I'll never get laid, while I'm running your life

No I just don't wanna, so I'm walking away
There is nothing that you can do I will not stay
No I don't need drama, so I'm walking away
Yeah I am a girl with a lot on her plate

So just cut me loose, learn to tie your shoes
There's somebody here, I'd like to introduce
So look in the mirror, look for the glass
?Cause you're not my problem, you are my last

No I just don't wanna, so I'm walking away
There is nothing that you can do I will not stay
No I don't need drama, so I'm walking away
Yeah I am a girl with a lot on her plate

No I just don't wanna, so I'm walking away
There is nothing that you can do I will not stay
No I don't need drama, so I'm walking away
I'm just a girl that you lost to cocaine

I get how that ties in with coke, but also I take it as in she's 'introducing' the person to themself, cause they're going to have to learn to look after themself...

General Comment:I think this song is, quite literally, about someone's drug addiction ruining a relationship. She says, "I'll never get laid while I'm running your life," which suggests she knows she's not her significant other's top priority. She feels she cannot settle into any semblance of a normal relationship with this person. Since she "doesn't need drama," she's "walking away."

General Comment:the verses are the cocaine talking to her - snowman and mirror/glass are obvious references to coke.

'Yeah I took you home when you’ve drunk too much' - taking drugs to escape feeling hungover.

Sia then sings the chorus from her own perspective sayingshe doesn't want any more cocaine - she has a lot on her plate already

General Comment:I agree with j-love's first interpretation.

I don't really think she would say "I am the girl that you lost to cocaine" if it really wasn't about losing a friend because of their cocaine habit. My guess is she was hoping this friend would hear this song and have no choice but to accept that she was talking about them. I say this because she states that she's tired of being their "crutch" and adapting to their behavior, and now she see's no other way to help them but to leave them so they might understand the severity of their situation. Furthermore, she says she's "a girl with a lot on her plate", meaning that she doesn't have time to deal with those with this problem, but she obviously cares about them since she's gone out of her way to help them up until now. At this point she's trying to use tough love to help them.

General Comment:Not strange. The Girl You Lost to Cocaine was the original title, but the label made her change it due to censorship reasons.

General Comment:no i dont think its about a drug addicted friend or her on drugs.

maybe the friend or person, or partner, she has looked after and been there for...and she has just made something up about her because she walked away because she was sick of putting up with it
    so shes saying like

ive been there for you and iim sick of your shit so im walking away and you hate that, so you turn around and say
"shes just the girl i lost to cocain"
    and its blamed.
i think the drug and title of the song has nothhing to do with the song and lyrics.

or the drug could be a metephor..
cocaine being the bad things in her life..
"im the girl you lost to cocaine"
im the girl you lost to all the bad things in your life.
... it can be interpeted in so many ways!

    i love sias passion though!ahh
it really shows and you can hear it in her voice.

General Comment:I think it has nothing to do with "cocaine"...or any drug really. Think it may be about being addicted to someone, putting up with their sh*t for so long and getting tired of it...moving on to something that is addictive or just addictive...something to replace the BS.
