Melody day, what have I done? (Ah)
Now our hearts are locked up tight again
And when I pray it's all begun
And when you smile it melts away again

Melody day, where have you gone? (Ooh)
All the hope I had has gone away
And what we had has come undone
And when you smile it melts away again

Be there
Be there
Be there
Be there

Melody day, what have I done? (Ah)
Now our hearts are locked up tight again
And when I pray it's all begun
And when you smile it melts away again

Tell them, oh
Tell them I always knew why, oh
So long, oh
So long to say goodbye

Be there
Be there
Be there
Be there

This is one of the best songs i have heard this year. The lyrics are pretty straightforward, but i think most of the meaning lies in the lush arrangement of sounds. It's about the disillusionment and disappointment that occurs after you realize a relationship is not what you originally thought it was.

More people need to know about this awesome band.

what about what he says at around the 1:09 mark? i can't make it out at all!

i actually thought this song was less about a relationship that snaith didn't want and more about a relationship the other person didn't want with snaith.. but then, who knows.. .

this (as well as sandy, irene, etc) is a seriously close-to-perfect song.

"what about what he says at around the 1:09 mark? i can't make it out at all!"

I had to listen very closely and.. I had to repeat the song several times to draw out that text at the end. I hope it's right.. I think it's right.. ?

ok, at the risk of sounding deaf,. . it sounds as if Snaith is saying 'DJ', or something similar, around the 1:11 mark, in that chorus-y part. . . but, what does that mean?

i think he's saying 'be there' if you watch the video of them performing this song in the pink room you can see him say it

He's not saying VJ or BJ or Be there, he's saying Bejae, or however it's spelt. It's the name of a girl he fancied in school and thought she had a very beautiful name, and somehow all these years later it wound up floating in the middle of the song. From the horse's mouth...

Did you hear that at his Becks Festival Bar show? (Taking a guess, based on the inclusion of syd in your name, and the fact that you posted the day after the show :)

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
