the first time I heard these lines I thought of it as that the less the boy talks about his feelings for the girl the easier it is for the girl to not have to fake feelings of commitment to the boy and have to feel bad for not feeling the same for the boy as he does for her. Or something along those lines.

as in the more distant the girl is to the boy, the more the boy wants her and needs her.

possibly means they needed time to figure out things but the girl didnt want to take any time to and she couldnt because she didnt love him like she did or something and time destroyed their relationship as in the girl finally just broke it off with the boy.

means possibly that they wont be together anymore after a certain time, but there they are, trying to get back feelings for eachother or possibly, having sex, when they know still that they arent gonna make it together.

pierce my lungs as in, the girl says harsh things to the boy or something like that, and it makes him hurt inside, and makes him feel weak. maybe even he just slit himself and she's just sitting there watching him bleed out, not giving a damn, totally emotionless. or maybe its metaphorically speaking, and she watches him as she sees the pain and hurt she has caused him.

he gave her everything she would ever need to be happy and more, he promised her everything and anything, but all she wanted was to have a relationsihp thats not forever-lasting. and she took everything for granted and took in his words and maybe even promised back the same things to the boy. but she didnt mean any of the things she said and it was all just a sick game to her, and the feelings she said she had felt for him actually weerent true.
"you took everything but it left u empty" It's like no matter what he gave to her, it meant nothing. Like when someone has cancer for example or is in drugs or any serious disease, the world doesn't really mean anything to them coz they're condemned anyway.

This song will mean something different to everyone who hears it.
To me: this song means that two lovers would do anything in their power to be together. For whatever reason, they can't be together. So to solve their problem, one of them kills the other, quoth "you'll pierce my lungs, my limbs go numb, as my colors fade out you watch me bleed.". after he dies, the other kills themself. This way they can be together in the afterlife.

I actually have a tattoo of the lyrics to this song on my wrist, because i have a lover who unfortunately isn't in their right mind anymore, so this song represents their personality before they got lost, the personality I'd give anything in the world to be with.
My views on what this song is about is that its about a guy who had to go through or watch a friend go through a lot of emotional pain, and resorted to cutting, suicide, drugs..etc. You do not have to agree, its just clearly my opinion
