Don't give up, it takes a while
I have seen this look before
And it's alright
You're not alone
If you don't love this anymore
I hear that you've slipped again
I'm here 'cause I know you'll need a friend

And you know that accidents can happen
And it's okay,
We all fall off the wagon sometimes
It's not your whole life
It's only one day
You haven't thrown everything away.

Take some time and learn to breathe
And remember what it means
To feel alive
And to believe
Something more than what you see
I know there's a price for this
But some things in life you must resist

And you know that accidents can happen
And it's okay,
We all fall off the wagon sometimes
It's not your whole life
It's only one day
You haven't thrown everything away.

I hear that you've slipped again
I'm here 'cause I know you'll need a friend

And you know that accidents can happen
And it's okay,
We all fall off the wagon sometimes
It's not your whole life
It's only one day
You haven't thrown everything away.

You know that accidents can happen
And it's okay,
We all fall off the wagon sometimes
It's not your whole life
It's only one day
You haven't thrown everything away.

So don't give up
It takes a while.

I love this song!!!!!!!! i think this song is about never giving up and always fighting, and its okay we all make mistakes sometimes. Just because you screwed up one day doesn't mean you screwed up your life. It may also mean that never regret what you have done or you may feel guilty for the rest of your life.

This song's about how after Nikki got clean, he slipped and fell back into his addiction to heroin. (It makes sense if you've read The Heroin Diaries by him...it's a really great book.)

Don't give up, it takes a while-Heroin is not something you can easily give up

I have seen this look before-talking about the way he looked when he was abusing....it wasn't pretty

And it's alright You're not alone If you don't love this anymore-Nikki always felt like he was alone, which is why he became an addict. He hated being addicted and didn't "love" heroin once he realized how bad he'd gotten

I hear that you've slipped again I'm here 'cause I know you'll need a friend-After getting clean the first time, he became addicted once more.

And you know that accidents can happen And it's okay, We all fall off the wagon sometimes It's not your whole life It's only one day You haven't thrown everything away.-He didn't mean to get re-addicted, but instead of giving up on trying to get, he realized that their was hope to recover, permanently.

Take some time and learn to breathe And remember what it means To feel alive-Nikki was always depressed, and it took nearly dying to feel alive.

And to believe Something more than what you see-He had to believe he could be more than a worthless addict

I know there's a price for this But some things in life you must resist-must. resist. heroin.

    The rest is repetition

And you know that accidents can happen And it's okay, We all fall off the wagon sometimes It's not your whole life It's only one day You haven't thrown everything away.

I hear that you've slipped again I'm here 'cause I know you'll need a friend

And you know that accidents can happen And it's okay, We all fall off the wagon sometimes It's not your whole life It's only one day You haven't thrown everything away.

You know that accidents can happen And it's okay, We all fall off the wagon sometimes It's not your whole life It's only one day You haven't thrown everything away.

So don't give up It takes a while.

i agree with both of the above but i also think that it could be him talking to other people telling them not to give up cause he knows how it feels to be in a stuation where you just feel like giving up....yeah basically that...i love this man he's such an amazing person and im thankful that i got to meet him....one of THE best days of my life

    My Interpretation

Not only can this song be about his addiction, but it can apply to a lot of things. Drugs, self harm, alcohol, suicide...

This is such a powerful song. Has me in tears. :[

i know this song is really about his relapse into heroin addiction, but to me it's about not giving up when you mess up just once. things are hard to overcome, everybody messes up at least once. but you haven't thrown everything away just that first time. you still have a chance to fix things. it just takes a while.

i started crying when i heard this song. my best friend just relapsed into her eating disorder and self injury. like once she started again she felt like she'd screwed up and ruined all her progress so she kinda gave up. this song puts into words what i've been trying to tell her:

You know that accidents can happen And it's okay, We all fall off the wagon sometimes It's not your whole life It's only one day You haven't thrown everything away.

This song is so beautiful! I love this album. Imo it's probably the best almub ever made...or at least right up there at the very top of the list. This song helps me keep hope. I may fuck things up really bad one day, but I listen to this song and know I haven't ruined my whole life. I agree with the other postings...he wrote it for his relapse with his heroine adiction, but others can relate the song to any problems they might be having, especially people dealing with suicde, eating dissorders, or self abuse. I just love this song and album. I can't get enough of it!

I really liked this song because I messed up a lot but now that I've learned more about Nikki Six's (past) heroin addiction, every time I hear "I've heard that you've slipped again" I think about Nikki. We all love you Nikki stay strong ma ninja

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
