She's going out to forget they were together
All that time he was taken her for granted
She wants to see if there's more than he gave, she's looking for

He calls her up he's tripping on the phone line
He doesn't want her out there and alone now
Knows she's moving it, knows she's using it
Now he's losing it and she don't care

[Chorus]
Everybody put up your hands up say, I don't wanna be in love,
Feel the beat now if you got nothing left say I don't wanna be in love
Don't give up now, you got a reason to live say, I don't wanna be in love
Feeling good now, don't be afraid to get down say, I don't wanna be in love

He was always giving her attention
Working hard to buy the things she mentioned
He was dedicated by most suckers hated
That girl was fine but she didn't appreciate him

She calls him up, she's tripping on the phone line
He had to get out and he ain't coming home now
Now lets try to forget it that's how he got with her
When he first met her and when they first got together

[Chorus]

To the beat , to the beat, to the beat,
You got nothing to lose don't be afraid to get down
We break up, its something that we do now,
Everyone has got to do it sometime
It's OK let it go, get out there and find someone (some more)
It's too late to be tripping on the phone here
Get off the wire you knew everything is good here
Stop what you're doing you don't want to ruin your chance to find a new one

[Chorus]

Song Meaning:This song resembles a couple that was very much in love and had a good relationship, and were together for a long time. Then they fight or break up for a very serious reason and she decides that she doesn't want to see him anymore, "She wants to see if there's more than he gave". The he calls her on the phone "tripping" wanting her back and missing her, and she agrees to get back together, but they both know that she is using it, and now he's losing it and she doesn't care. Then there's the chorus, and at this point, their relationship just isn't the same anymore. "He was dedicated..." he was the only one trying in the relationship and he was trying to make it work because he didn't want to loose her. When she calls him up on the phone "tripping" she doesn't know what to do, because she wants to let go, she just can't because deep down she still loves him and misses what they had. Now the chorus is going again, and now it means that it's not getting any better and theres no point, but they just stay together. "We break up, it's something that we do now.." now they are defiantly falling apart because they just break up whenever and neither of them can help it. "It's too later to be tripping on the phone here..." now they both know they can't do anything to save their relationship so now it's time to move on, "Stop what your'e doing, you don't want to ruin, the chance that you got to, find a new one" Now they know they should just go their separate ways, so they can just do it all over again. So basically this song is about a couple that is falling out of love, and they can't stop it, so they just Don't Wanna Be In Love.

General Comment:Gee, don't any of you find it funny that lots of people are commenting things like, "The band sucks, but this song is catchy." or, "I really hate Good Charlotte, they're music sucks" and such. Funny, isn't it? Here we are, supposedly commenting about what we think this song means, and all people can think of is, "I hate this band".
Really people, grow up. Nobody cares if you don't like the band. If you really don't like them, then you should just ignore everything about them. Why are you even commenting crap like "This band sucks"? Why are you looking at the lyrics then, huh? Here's a tip, go outside and do something productive with your lives instead of going around complaining about everything you don't like!

General Comment:to me, i think of it as someone who has a crush or is in love with someone else and either the feelings are not reciprocated or they broke up and the person still has feelings for the other person and is just tired of it and doesn't want to be in love anymore because it causes so much confusion and heartbreak.

i dont know if it means exactly this, but this is just my personal opinoion

My Interpretation:... So many are stupid on this.

The song is clearly a sarcastic comment about how finicky people are.
Talks about how the man worshipped her, loved her and gave the relationship his all, and all the girl could think about was what she might be missing out on. The song's chorus is a sarcastic 'cheering' for not wanting to be in love, but always wanting to be out there, finding the next fling/relationship.

One key to this being hinted at as sarcastic, is the heart on the monitor, it is constantly breaking and reforming, and breaking and reforming, but at the end of the video, it's a solid heart.

General Comment:whenever i listen to this song i always relate to being young and not wanting be in love, 'trapped' in a relationship, but instead wanting to go out and have fun.
but at the same time you kinda know you're being immature
