Disgusted by your weakness
You have no right to live
To know you is to hate you
But your life's yours to give

You monkey see, you monkey do
You're always doing what they tell you to
You're such a puppet on string
You don't get it!

I won't bow to something that I've never seen
I can't believe in something that doesn't believe in me
I'm not blood of your blood, I'm no son of your god
I've no faith in your fate
Still I find salvation

You think you have the answers to every last detail
In your eyes, you're the victor
In mine you've all but failed

You monkey see, you monkey do
You're always doing what they tell you to
You're such a puppet on string
You don't get it!
You monkey see, you monkey do
You're always doing what they tell you to
You're such a puppet on string
You don't get it!

I won't bow to something that I've never seen
I can't believe in something that doesn't believe in me
I'm not blood of your blood, I'm no son of your god
I've no faith in your fate
Still I find salvation
Still I find salvation
Still I find salvation

My Interpretation:Maybe it's about what it takes to heal, where in some churches, faith is supposed to be all you need, especially it seems when it comes to mental illness, when help is available, should you just shun it cause you're told too? "Still I find salvation" seems to be the point.

My Opinion:ok, i'm a christian and i love this song. why? because i'm not the type of christian that thinks everyone needs to believe what i believe. Ivan Moody sings about his opinion of religion and i respect that. I have my own beliefs and sometimes disagree with my own religion. I'm not a "puppet on a string". you can believe anything you want, just stop disrespecting others for their beliefs. All religions can coexist and whether you choose to follow one or not is your own choice and again, i respect that.

and the song doesn't even have to be about christianity, it can be about any other religion. you people just chose christianity right away because apparently it's the cause of all the worlds problems and you people look for something to blame it on.how about you stop blaming the religion and start blaming the people that have highly skewed views of those opinions. again i'm a christian, you don't have to be, but we can still respect each other.

General Comment:Yes this song is about religion, and is probably one of the few songs I can't listen to from Five Finger Death Punch.

Why? Well I'll admit it I am a strong Roman Catholic and while I have nothing against the group (I love all there other music, even going to there concert) the words aren't that positive towards faith.

ALSO this is not pinned on one religion, it's all religions. But hey that's my opinion, and if they choose to sing about this, I have nothing against it (I can choose not to listen and no one is offended)

    General Comment:Alright,

I think this song is about the people who blindly follow their religions. Those people that eat up everything the church has to say without a second thought. It's not necessarily about religions shoving it down peoples throats, more about the people taking the shoving with a big fucking smile. Those people so close minded when it comes to pointing out the flaws in what they believe in, that they block it out and use the opposing opinion as a Frisbee/ something to aim at when they piss.

    My take on Religion:
Pick one. Hear it out. Consider it. FORM YOUR OWN BELIEFS.

    THINK FOR YOURSELVES DAMMIT!

    General Comment:That should have been:

Belief in a God = Faith in something we can't see, hear, touch but understand is there.

    Sorry for the type-o's

General Comment:I understand that some people feel strong about religion etc. (whatever one they may subscribe to), however what people need to understand is that you (anyone) can believe in a God and not be part of an organized religion.

In fact in the simplist terms you can factualy say Belief in God =/= Religion or vice versa.

Belief in a God = Faith in something we can see, hear, touch but understand is there.

Religion = a society that has a structured belief system for a specific God.

    Belief = Faith
Religion = the system dictated by which one MUST exersize one's faith.

I do believe in God, but I no longer have faith in any particular religion to guide me. Instead I choose to meet God on my own terms. I will occasionly toss a thought out to my God (usually to look over my family or in thanks for them) but would never dream to tell others who/what they MUST believe in. I was greatful to have the freedom to find my own belief in God just as my son will be.

    That being said...

A song is only a song and cannot hurt you. Just think of it as melody/tempo/sound...if you like the way it feels in your chest, listen to more of it.....if you don't.....well slide in another CD.

General Comment:Is he saying he's against religion or closed mined adherence to anything without at least exploring or learning about other points of view.
