All non-believers stand aside in fear
A new day's marching through the door
How could you ever think you'd make it here?
Did it bleed? Was it sore?
Through the struggles you've endured

You've come so far from innocence
Provided all the consequence
Only what does it matter now?

[Chorus:]
Cause you're going home
You're running free
As only you would be if you never owed them anything
And now you've found your way out
In the trust you've seen your path on home

Spend your time well before you go
Here in hell

Your living ends before the engineer
What was your motive in this fight?
(did they play you for the weaker of them?)
How could you ever think you'd make it here?
Was it greed that pushed your heart through the struggles you've endured?

You've come so far from innocence
Provided all the consequence
Only what does it matter now?

[Chorus]

Spend your time well before you go
Here in hell

(There's a hell in all of us)
Spend your time well before you go
(There's a hell in all of)
In a lost that's all your own
(There's a hell in all of us)
There are no secrets you can hide
(There's a hell in all of)
From yourself, in your mind, leave the worst of all behind

[Chorus x2]

Spend your time well before you go
Here in hell

My Interpretation:I think this song is about someone who has already committed suicide, told by a person who thinks less of them because they committed suicide, or thinks little of them in general and is basically saying good riddance. When the album came out, the singer, I thought anyway, said something about the album being an anime story and the character knows he has to go on a suicide mission.

General Comment:i can't say i've read up on the claudio v wilhelm story but i think this song (as any other) has so many meanings to it than just one. to me, it's a perfect description of faith in the afterlife (namely, heaven). seems like this life loses meaning if all this "consequence" builds up to a utopia where none of our understanding is needed anymore..why go through it if you don't take anything with you? i don't know...anyone could tear apart my interpretation easily but i think it has some validity. thoughts?

General Comment:2 years ago i moved waaaaay away from home to experience something new and stuff....went thru a butt-load of crap with the culture shocks and all the random problems that come with being out on your own for the first time...once i mastered the whole being away thing, every trip i made to visit my folks "back home", this has been my theme song, and now that i'm considereding moving back, this song doesn't cease to remain in my life's soundtrack...its like C&C are telling me "you've endured a lot of struggles, you've seen where to put and where not to put your trust, you've gone thru this this and that, but nothing matters now, cause your going home!!!" ...as time passes, the more determined i am to go back home and do things with my life i never did before, and this is where they're telling me: "spend your time well here in hell before you go and leave the worse of all behind!!!" goodbye Kansas!!!!

General Comment:Sounds like someone escaping from jail to me.
You’ve come so far from innocence
    Provided all the consequence,
Only what does it matter now?

Maybe the person was guilty in court and the consequence was jail. "Only what does it matter now?" could refer to someone escaping so it wouldn't matter.

"What was your motive" The reason to do something illegal?

    'Cause you’re going home,
    You’re running free,
As only you would be if you never owed them anything.
And now you’ve found your way out.

"And now you've found your way out" maybe found a way to escape from a jail? And running free.

I know that's kinda crazy but it does sound like someone trying to escape from jail or something. XD

General Comment:Maybe you have something with that about Josh Eppard.. Claudio also stated in the interviews on the dvd that he wrote that song while the band was broken up after Eppard and Todd Left.

I don't know about the whole Heroin thing.. maybe its a cryptic reference but its certainly not an "obvious reference"

General Comment:i also like amans perspective of the video part with the hallway...maybe the reference to "heaven" is actually to the fence?? maybe...

General Comment:in interviews on the dvd included with the new album, claudio said that alot of the songs had a much more personal influence but still fit the story...my belief that the person leaving is ex-drummer Josh Eppard...and "how could you ever thing you'd might get here" is an obvious reference to his heroin and other opiate addictions...just my opinion though....

General Comment:Sounds like Claudio's first encounter with Ryan.

Maybe they fight a little, maybe they don't, but at the very least Ryan tries to get Claudio to commit suicide.

I'm thinking Claudio and Ryan fight, and Claudio looses, but doesn't die. Possibly Ryan thinks Claudio dies.

General Comment:If you watch the music video, it shows a hallway with a light at the end, and a whole bunch of random things flashing on. I think the hallway is supposed to be the way to heaven, the random flashes of people/objects etc is his life is flashing before his eyes. And through out the entire video you can see Claudio walking down the hallway. Then about mid way/end of the video it shows Claudio with his eyes closed and you can hear a ECG (the machine they use in hospitals to monitor your heart beat) and its got a steady pulse. And finally at the end, the hallway door closes.

I think this says that Claudio in the story has a near death experience.

General Comment:I agree with conork on this one.

Sounds like Sizer and Chase have both been captured already and either wilhelm or mayo is making a statement now to claudio and any/all of his followers and uses Sizer and Chase as an example. Public execution or something of the sort perhaps?

"You've come so far from innocence,
    provided all the consequence"

Sounds like a description of Claudio's becoming the crowing if you ask me.

It also fits in considering the next song on the album is Mother Superior, where claudio is contemplating suicide, Wilhelm's demonstration and killing sizer and chase seems like it could trigger claudio's desire to end his own life at this point of the story.
