Haunting Lyrics
Up on this hill, in this uncanny house
The wind makes this place creak, the lights they are flickering. The moon she is lurking, the clock it stopped working At a quarter past three. There's something dancing here in the shadows And I wish it were us. You haunt me baby, you haunt me here tonight. You haunt me baby, you haunt me here tonight. Tonight. Tonight. Can't get your memory, off of my mind. Just want your heartbeat, on top of my mine. There's something dancing, here in the shadows And I wish it were us. You haunt me baby, you haunt me here tonight. You haunt me baby, you haunt me here tonight. Tonight. Tonight. Up on this hill, in this uncanny house. Your spirit I can't see, but I still believe I can feel your breath on me. You haunt me baby, you haunt me here tonight. You haunt me baby, you haunt me here tonight. Tonight. Tonight. Up on this hill, in this uncanny house. |

She says: i think it's just another love ballad. he's been left by his lover. left in the house alone where he and his love used to spend time together. now he is haunted by her memory. their is a theme of mysteriousness and eerieness. so her memory is ominous and has become a presence, felt with each flicker and creak. it all reminds him of her. he likes it though. and he knows the shadows and flickers and creaks can't really be her but he wishes it really were, cuz that would be better than the nothing.
I agreed, but I also added: I thought it was pretty sweet, kinda creepy. The music does give it a new meaning though. It may be a requiem, but it is a song that gives off the feeling, this is his suffering, but he's moving on, slowly. The part that i am confused about is... did the clock die at a 3:15? It seems as if, time just stopped, but then again, the wind is still blowing. Is there some kind of paradigm when it comes to time, and space?

He can't see her, but he can feel her, and he still wants her so much "Just want your heartbeat on top of mine"
"THeres something dancing here in the shadows" may suggest that one of the things they liked to do was dance together.
The fact that the clock stopped working "at a quarter past three" indicates several meanings. It shows that he is stuck on a moment in time, captured there completely, and unable to move on. It also shows that the place there holds memories that are frozen in time - there have been no new memories made there since she was there with him.
