You got me pushing imaginary buttons Step away from me lover, away from me lover You got me counting imaginary school children Get away from me lover, away from me lover Yes, I can see that your carpet is animated Walk away from me lover, away from me lover Yes, I see open wounds in everyone I've dated Away from me lover, get away from me lover I am no good for you I'm seeing ghosts in everything I do I am no good for you I'm seeing ghosts in everything I do I am no good for you I'm seeing ghosts in everything I do, oh oh oh oh I am no good for you I'm seeing ghosts in everything I do, oh oh oh oh You got me turning all the lights on and off Walk away from me lover, away from me lover When will you see that I am carrying this stuff? Walk away from me lover, away from me lover Can't you see that I am losing my marbles? It's marvelous losing another, losing another I am no good for you I'm seeing ghosts in everything I do I am no good for you I'm seeing ghosts in everything I do I am no good for you I'm seeing ghosts in everything I do, oh oh oh oh I am no good for you I'm seeing ghosts in everything I do, oh oh oh oh Walk away from me lover, away from me lover Get away from me lover, away from me lover Step away from me lover, away from me lover Walk away from me lover, away from me lover

Song Meaning:I don't understand the animated carpet thing, but everything else makes me think it's about a woman with baggage thinking she's not good enough for a man because of her past. It seems like she's hurt previous lovers and is warning this man that she doesn't want to hurt him, like the "if you really love me, you'll let me go" idea.

General Comment:OMG kirsty86 i really think its 'caught' not 'got' that would make more sense and fit better with a girl warning a potential lover about her emotional baggage and past relationship snafus (btw i had no idea wat snafus meant n english is my only language haha)i dont think its OCD. i tried to look at it like greenkat742 but im sticking with clairvoyance. thanx teenqueen22 i think ill get the filterheadz remix.
catchy song my fav of sias

General Comment:I think of it like she might be talking to her family. That maybe they disapprove of her new boyfriend, just like they did the last time. She's starting to get paranoid and crazy from all of the criticism and wants them to all leave it alone. Also, it may not be about a person but about a life dream.

    Song Meaning:Taken from an interview:

"OK, OK, I gotta tell you, I was at the end of the rope! There are four cycles for the process of doing my job; there’s writing, recording, promo and touring, and I was at the end of my writing cycle, which can sometimes, between albums, and in this case, can be up to three years! I was writing with all sorts of different writers and I wasn’t really having any experiences, I was just going into work every day and writing one or two songs a day, like accumulating songs, for me, for other pop stars – 'cos at one point I thought it wasn’t going to happen for me so I should just start writing for other people if I can. So it was like the last session I did, and I had literally nothing, and I was so bored of myself and I hadn’t done anything or had any experiences for like a year, and so I wrote nonsense!"

Song Meaning:to me it's about daydreaming of a domesticated life with someone she has fallen in love with.. because it's something he wants. but she knows that it's not her reality, her relationship will soon be a ghost of the past, says she isn't good for him but isn't clear on reasoning, just that she feels like she is losing herself in a reality not her own. cool quirky song, kinda like an afterthought .. breathing out as we ponder something. casual cute curious.

this is my first sm post :) i wish i put more thought into it, but i listened to the song, and then just typed from the top of my head.

General Comment:Kirsty - it could well be 'you caught me', both versions make sense.

I really do think it's about OCD though, and having OCD myself I have often thought my bf would be better off with without me, so you do have a valid point :)

General Comment:It may not make any difference but does anyone else hear:
You caught me pushing imaginery buttons
    and
You caught me counting imaginery school children
as in i'm crazy, maybe you're better off without me.

General Comment:I thought it was about OCD too - pushing buttons, counting, switching lights on and off - typical OCD behaviours.

    Awesome song.
