Lyrics for Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll as interpreted by HaRuKa

Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll Lyrics
Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll
Is what I want.
It's in my soul
It's what I need
Indie Rock and Roll
It's time

Two of us
Flipping through a thrift store magazine
She plays the drum on a
Tambourine
Betcha, your bottom dolla' on me
It's Indie Rock and Roll for me

It's Indie Rock and Roll, for me
It's all I need.
It's Indie Rock and Roll, for me

In the clutch, of talking every word
for all the boys
Electric girls with worn down toys
Makin' up, Breakin' up,
What do you care?
Oh what do you care?

I'll take my twist with a shout
A coffee shop with a cause
Man I'll freak you out!
No sex, no drugs, no like no love
When it comes to today

Stay
If you wanna love me stay.
Oh, don't be shy!
Let's cause a scene
Like lovers do,
On silver screens
Let's make it, yeah we'll cause a scene.

It's Indie Rock and Roll, for me.
It's Indie Rock and Roll, for me.
It's all I need.
It's Indie Rock and Roll, for me.

(In the clutch, of talking every word for all the boys)
It's Indie Rock and Roll, for me.
It's all I need.
Makin' up, Breakin' up,
What do you care?
It's Indie Rock and Roll, for me.
(Two of us, flipping through a thrift store magazine)
It's Indie Rock and Roll, for me.
It's all I need.
Makin' up, Breakin' up.
What do you care?
It's Indie Rock and Roll for me

i think this song is a tribute that brandon and the band are giving to the music that made them so succesful.

God I hate this song. I don't care if its irony, a joke whatever, calling a song "Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll" is just LAME.

Highlights the worst aspects of the Killers IMHO - this and a couple of other songs knock a star at least off the first album.

Even though this song is merely 'okay,' I cannot believe it doesn't have more comments than this.

i think it's "she plays the drums, i'm on tambourine"... or at least this is what i hear...
and i think it suites the theme :)

anyway, a very good song... i'm a fan of this band, and this is one of my favourite songs, always on my player/list ;))

to me, this song is actually quite enjoyable! it's a tongue-in-cheek piece, just poking fun at the indie stereotype. it shows a different side of them and i like the arrangement.

I completely agree the Sawdust version is atrocious compared to the original. Made me question the entire album, to be honest. Vocals timing and tone just seem way off. Shouldn't mess with a good thing.

i dont like the sawdust version
i think this song is not one of their best, its kind of monotonous and it should show a little bit more passion cuz they're talikn bout indie music, it doesnt sound like its all he needs...
though, i still love to sing this song top voice cuz indie rocn and roll IS all i need lol...
indie rock is not quite glamorous
and still that's fun bout the song cuz its a different perspective though it may be irony...

ITS INDIE ROCK AND ROLL FOR ME!

this song is brilliant - i love it and i'm confused as to why it's not getting much love here!?! the sawdust version is good - shwos they have a raw-er, more experimental edge and they don't rely on being "produced"

In my eyes, this song is about the lifestyle lead by Indie rock fans, mixed with a bizzare love story. My favourite line is 'stay if you want to love me, stay...' I actually said that to my crush once. :P And enough with the Brandeh fangirls. Give me Mark any day.

"No sex, no drugs, no like no love" is also a line from "Air" by the Owls.

I think a few of the other lines might be quotes from other songs.

I LOVE the bit with the overlapping voices, especially the "Two of us, flipping thru a thrift store magazine... It's all I need." - reminds me of a simpler time.

I think this song is just Brandon bashing on Fall Out Boy and the Bravery. Fall Out Boy did release a song called "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race"
I could be wrong though im not a fan, just a Wikipedia junkie

The guitar at the "I'll take my twist with a shout" part sounds considerably like Nirvana's "In Bloom."

I don't think the song is MAKING FUN OF indie as a whole (seeing as The Killers are an Indie band), but is rather making fun of "Scenesters", who conform to the Indie stereotype, which is completely against what being indie means (Individual, obviously)
