Left your t-shirt in my room
Still smells of you
And the picture you hung on the door
Lay smashed, picture perfect
Explains now
Clearly nothing left but a memory
We only made out
You never kissed me
That's how I learned to hold back all feeling
Wait, please don't go
I won't stay
All these words on replay
I'm okay
It's all right
Good to know that you're fine
Pretending everything is right to make it better
I'll hide my make-up smeared eyes
To show that I'm fine
Some how you have managed to get under my skin
More than anyone ever did
And if every hole makes a scar
And every scar marks its place
Then I will never live freely without your trace
And it'll never be fair
I wrote my songs for you and you never even cared
So I'll forget you
I'll wash your t-shirt and kill the pillow
And cut you out of pictures
Wait, please don't go
I won't stay
All these words on replay
I'm okay
It's all right
Good to know that you're fine
Pretending everything is right to make it better
I'll hide my make-up smeared eyes
This drama sat shotgun
My eyes rained like autumn
Only the glove box knows how the story goes
Now that this bandage is broken
And the cuts left in open
I'll tell you just one thing
This wasn't worth the sting (x3)
Still smells of you
And the picture you hung on the door
Lay smashed, picture perfect
Explains now
Clearly nothing left but a memory
We only made out

"Nothing left but a memory. We only made out. You never kissed me." Cutters are typically victims of sexual abuse and therefore prone to promiscuity. They tend to get extremely attached to sexual partners, even when those partners don't return their feelings and/or treat them horribly. Cutters usually "relapse" after a loss, like the death of a loved one, or most of the time, a break-up.
"Pretending everything is right to make it better. I'll hide my make-up smeared eyes to show that I'm fine." Extreme sufferer-in-silence behavior is often what leads someone to experiment with cutting.
"This drama sat shotgun. My eyes rained like autumn. Only the glove box knows how the story goes." Cutting is a very difficult addiction to live with, especially if you don't live alone. Cutters have a specific place they cut, and believe it or not, most of them choose their car. It's mobile. You can get in and drive to a private, hidden location in minutes. And there are lots of compartments where one can hide a blade. Namely the glove box.
"Now that this bandage is broken and the cut's left in open, I'll tell you just one thing. This wasn't worth the sting." Like other addicts, cutters state that their vice makes them feel better for a short time, but is almost immediately followed by feelings of emptiness and shame.
Alright, there's my spiel. It's okay if you think I'm off.
The line
This drama sat shotgun
My eyes rained like autumn
Only the glove-box knows how the story goes
Means that ever since she has been living with the results of this break-up, its follows her around all the time (sitting shotgun) and so she can't help but cry over it all the time (eyes rained). The glove-box thing i think is about the fact that when a girl (especially me) has a bad break-up like, i listen to sad music about much of the same because they seem to know how i feel, and especially in a car, cds are kept in the glove-box. So in essence, the glove-box (cds) is the only one that really knows how she feels about everything.
This wasn't worth the sting.
i definitely think it is getting over a relationship, how many people that you don't have a relationship with leaves there clothes at your house, gives you pictures and have a pillow from.
it seems like they broke up, and the guy just moved on, but the girl definitely still has feelings, but she knows those feelings are pointless because the guy doesn't care.
and breaking up has showed her what kind of guy he was really was, but she still wants him regardless.
she sees that he never really cared at all.
so she'll put on a brave face and act like everything's alright.
i think it's about something that is not a real relationship, but she falls for the guy, but their relationship never got anywhere. and then it ended and although he didn't share the same feelings, she's secretly heartbroken and tries to hide it in front of him to show him that she doesn't care, but she still does?
idk, but i think this song has a somewhat different meaning to everyone. all songs do.
