That night they found the key to decode you,
Tokyo.

Between warm sake and streetlight
caught in falling snow
Holding each word he spoke,
her hands filled up full.
The quiet voice she gave him,
translates by tone.

They laughed throughout their talking
With every round
words come into meaning

General Comment:Song meaning wise....Don't really know..but I will say this

I can picture an awesome music video for this song.

It starts off at dawn, at the beach..some dude gets hit by water, wakes up...gets up..the dude is completely beat up, it looks like he's been through some hell, night prior. Starts walking around, looks around and as the music changes to where they start singing, camera zooms into his eyes, then fades into black. now we get the scene where he's remembering..meets a girl
they hit it off start hanging out all day, its one of those cliche moments with a girl in a movie type of deal. Next thing you know its getting dark, he starts walking her home, and some guys pull up and shoot her, completely miss the guy, by the point the outro solo is coming along, so this is where he's trying to catch those guys, throws crap in their car. Guys decide to stop, and teach this dude a lesson, so they start jumping him, bleeding him to a bloody pulp, throw him in the trunk, while he's unconscious then leave him in front of the ocean...and well that is how my vision of the video would end. its a lot better explaining it while the song is playing so you can kind of get a feel for it, but that is what I envision when I hear this song...great song, probably one of my favorite MTB songs.

General Comment:I agree with onthecitylights interpretation but I think he's observing someone else, whether it be one of his band mates or another foreigner who doesn't speak the same language as the girl he's romancing. The alcohol is reducing the language barrier.

General Comment:Sorry for the double post, but to add to what I just said. Seen as it's called Part 2 and it flows seemlessly from Dr. L'Ling, I'm pretty certain it's safe to say that they are related. I don't think it's just a clever name...

General Comment:I believe the man and woman he references here are the same two in Dr. L'Ling. Perhaps this woman was Snider's first and this nameless man stole her away. This may be the story of how that first happened.

General Comment:I don't really see a connection with Dr. L'Ling, except that the song is called Part 2 and comes after L'Ling. The lyrics don't point to anything I can see as being connected to it...they're in Japan, and that's about it here...totally different subject than L'Ling in my opinion.

General Comment:Perhaps waiting until the correct lyrics are available would prove more useful than a first guess on a leaded album...

General Comment:I think the song is a representation of losing a girl to someone else. The musical backdrop is dark, not romantic, and the accomplice is referred to in third person terms such as "he" and "him".

General Comment:This song seems like its about meeting a chick in tokyo, and they dont speek the same language, but with each round/shot/saki or w/e they begin to understand where the night is going... sex pretty much like every other song on the cd which is cool ... btw they are all over MTV which sucks but w/e
