is everyone afraid?
is everyone ashamed?
they're running towards their holes, to find out
apocalyptic means are lost among our dead
a message to our friends to get out
there's wages on this fear
oh so clear
depends on what you'll pay to hear
they're bound to kill us all
in whitewashed halls
their jackals lick their paws
please don't stop
it's lonely at the top
these lonely days
when will they ever stop?
this doomsday clock ticking in my heart
not broken
i love life every day
in each and every way
Kafka would be proud, to find out
i'm certain of the end
it's the means that has me spooked
it takes an unknown truth to get out
i'm guessing i'm born free, silly me
i was meant to beg from my knees
please don't stop
it's lonely at the top
these lonely days
when will they ever stop?
this doomsday clock ticking in my heart
these lonely days when will they ever stop?
we gotta dig in, gas masks on
wait in the sunshine, all bug-eyed
if this is living?
sakes alive!
well then they can't win
no one survives
is everyone afraid?
you should be ashamed
apocalyptic screams
mean nothing to the dead
kissing that 'ol sun
to know all there is
come on, last call
you should want it all
ah, it's lonely at the top
these lonely days
when will they ever stop
this doomsday clock ticking in my heart
these lonely days
when will they ever stop
this ticking in my heart
is everyone afraid?

Song Meaning:Well IT IS very clear, its about Illuminati, its about secret powerforce in this world, new world order act. Its pretty obvious when knowing something about all that stuff, and Billy knows it all, HAARP ect.

General Comment:that site's obviously rather biased, izardstreet.

i think the song's about how, unless some things they explain in the rest of the album dont change, theres gonna be some extremely hard times coming for us. what better to show bad times than a doomsday clock?

General Comment:The Doomsday Clock is a imaginary clock that the worlds top scientists made up to get people to commit suicide. At least, thats the only reason I can see being used for.

Nah,but basically is counts down to midnight.
    Midnight being the doomsday.
And we as the human race gets closer to midnight as more and more nuclear weapons get made.

General Comment:Could this song just be saying shame on us for thinking it's doomsday. And maybe that by thinking this way we are creating a self-fufilling prophecy. Thats just how it sounds to me. Like he's saying that we should be ashamed for giving up on the joy of life and accepting the end of the world in all it's forms.

General Comment:It think the meaning of the song is supposed to be literal. It's about a group of people surviving after a massive global disaster. The narrator of the song is trying to appreciate the time they have, since they don't know how long or short that will be ("I love life every day, in each and every way"). Thus, they have a "doomsday clock" in their heart, which counts the moments that they manage to survive. Even if living is dangerous, the narrator thinks that people who are too scared to keep on living should be ashamed of themselves, and that if everyone gives up and stops living, they'll be all alone and lose their will to press on as well.

For some reason, it makes me think of chaos and destruction brought on by chemical weapons in particular. Maybe because they were putting on gasmasks.
