'Cause Jersey just got colder and
I'll have you know I'm scared to death
That everything that you had said to me
Was just a lie until you left
Now I'm hoping just a little bit stronger
Hold me up just a little bit longer
I'll be fine, I swear
I'm just gone beyond repair
Let's write a song that we can dance to
'Cause they all wanna listen
Just to know how it sounds when
I do that thing you know that I do
When I find inspiration
Well, this is me breaking down when...
'Cause Jersey just got colder and
I'll have you know I'm scared to death
That everything that you had said to me
Was just a lie until you left
Now I'm hoping just a little bit stronger
Hold me up just a little bit longer
I'll be fine, I swear
I'm just gone beyond repair
And let's write a song that we can sing to
And you can lead the choir
And put the hook where it hurts the most
And you threw a spark that lit the candle
That set us all on fire
And sent a flame down the East Coast
'Cause Jersey just got colder and
I'll have you know I'm scared to death
That everything that you had said to me
Was just a lie until you left
Now I'm hoping just a little bit stronger
Hold me up just a little bit longer
I'll be fine, I swear
I'm just gone beyond repair
And I should have been your everything
And now at the end of my eternity
And I will sleep to have the darkest dreams
As this just won't seem right to me
I close my eyes and beg for peace
'Cause Jersey just got colder and...
'Cause Jersey just got colder and...
And Jersey just got colder and...
And Jersey just got colder and
I'll have you know I'm scared to death
That everything that you had said to me
Was just a lie until you left
Now I'm hoping just a little bit stronger

When I find inspiration" since Jason wrote the lyrics for band until he left this par of it is about writing lyrics for the songs. And the verse where it says "And you can lead the choir and put the hook where it hurts the most" and Derek writes the music for band that verse is about that. And the chorus is about when Jason left Mayday Parade, like when they were writing the song he was thinking about leaving or going to leave and the song could have been a last minute addition; I'm not sure.

I do that thing you know that I do When I find inspiration" its not talking about drugs, its about when he writes the songs.
the part about the choir is talking about derek singing when he was in choir earlier and putting the hook where it hurts.
listen to that with the song in mind and it'll all make sense
it describes this song in a nut shell.
his girlfriend left him for no reason, well he doesn't know the reason.. so he's upset.
so the metaphor "and put the hook where it hurts most", is saying that his girlfriend did something that hurt him the most, which was leaving him.
she knew that leaving him would kill him inside, and she did it anyway.
and there's nothing he could do, this hurt him the most.
this song could have many different meanings, but that lyric really got me thinking.
A song is a song
Many bands write about things that they don't do but things that they have seen from other people.
Not all of a Song writer's inspration comes from what they do.
There is drug use and drinking everywhere and i am sure the singer sees these things everyday in the world hes in.
Also i do believe the name of the song is Jersey.
So stop being assholes and get over it, fighting about a song
HAS to be the most immature thing I've EVER seen.
Mayday are so emo
