Close your eyes and make believe this is where you want to be
Forgetting all the memories, try to forget love cause love's forgotten me
Well hey, hey baby, it's never too late pretty soon you won't remember a thing
And I'll be distant, the stars reminiscing
Your heart's been wasted on me

You've never been so used as I'm using you, abusing you
My little decoy
Don't look so blue, you should've seen right through
I'm using you, my little decoy
My little decoy

Live your life inside a dream
Time is changing everything
Forgetting all the memories
And I'm forced into you just cause you're into me
Well hey, hey baby, it's never too late
When I'm gone you won't remember a thing
But I can't stay and you know I won't wait
I was gone from the very first day

You've never been so used as I'm using you, abusing you
My little decoy
Don't look so blue, you should've seen right through
I'm using you, my little decoy

Oh, oh.
I'm not sorry at all
(not sorry at all, not sorry. no.)
I won't be sorry at all
(not sorry at all, not sorry. no.)
I'd do it over again

Don't look so blue, my little decoy
You should've seen right through, my little decoy
You've never been so used, my little decoy
And so I'm using you, my little decoy

General Comment:I cant believe I havent commented on this song. I've been a Paramore fan for a while, and this has always been my favorite song for some reason.

This song is really self explanatory. She's using a guy for personal gain, for another guy's attention. The girl never believed in love in the first place, or believed she could ever love him, that's why she says "Try to forget love cause love's forgotten me." But she just laughs off his pain, because she thinks he's not in love with her, its just like and lust and "Pretty soon you wont remember a thing" and she'll "be distant the stars reminiscing your hearts been wasted on me." She believes that whatever he feels for her isnt real and that he'll get over her soon enough and they'll go back to not knowing each other. He was "Living life inside a dream." He thinks that they still can be together if they try when she's not interested in playing him anymore. "Im forced into you, just cause your into me," She's only staying for the attention not like she's actually interested. "And I cant stay and you know I wont wait I was gone from the very first day." She cant stay and wait for her interest in him to just come to her, cause she knows it wont happen she knew it wasnt going to last long from the start. He shouldnt look so sad know he should of saw from the start that she was only using him, he was a decoy "Dont look so blue, you should've seen right through, I'm using you my little decoy." And at the end of it all she doesnt care that she hurt him. Cause she'll do it again if she had the choice. "Im not sorry at, I'll do it over again."
LOVE THE SONG! It's kinda sad for the Decoy dude though. lol Wish their was a video.

My Interpretation:I'd been so young, though I'm not much older now.
How could I have known he'd react that way? I was so in love with that man.... And never the boy who was my friend.
But I wasn't alone in this. My friends tried to force us together- and I went along with it. I just wanted that poor boy to be happy, even though I wouldn't belong to him, even though I was miserable. Even though I cared- no, loved that man, I felt as though I should make the boy happy.
One night in a movie theater, when the boy got closer than a friend should be, I finally realized I couldn't do it anymore, pushing him away and apologizing.
A loudmouth friend of mine told him the next day what (and for whom) I truly felt- and he never spoke to me again. Because he couldn't handle the fact that I -THE ONLY GIRL THAT HE HAD EVER FELT ANYTHING FOR- never really cared about him.
I ruined our friendship. And nobody else knew why. I would do it again - maybe tell him straight off the bat what I was really feeling..... And no, I AM sorry. So sorry.

General Comment:Listening to it now, I think that it's just how she (maybe Hayley Williams) used a guy.

General Comment:To me this song is about someone who says they dont care but they actually do as when she says

"im not sorry at all..ill do it over again"

it has like a sarcastic tone to me...thats the way i see it even tho im "using you" i like it..i love you..

    Memory:Totally awesome song.

For me personally, I broke up with my ex who cheated on me, spent a year getting over it and met someone else. I wasn't too keen on dating this new guy. He was a lovely guy, not bad looking even though I didn't fancy him like mad (major attraction is very important to me). I thought twice about dating him but friends and family encoursged me to. I thought this is what I needed, someone different to get over what a shit time I'd had in the past year and it didn't seem like a bad consolation. I was fooling myself all along looking at the whole relationship retrospectively. I used him for 3 years until I realised he was last on my list of priorities and kicked him out and couldn't put up with it anymore. But I'm not sorry, the relationship brought me out of the deep, dark depths of depression and I am emotionally stable now. It was selfish snd I did/do love him as a friend, but nothing more.

Sorry for the ramble. It's just I identified with this song since I first heard it! I can't wait to see them in November!

General Comment:Lol it's a dark song but I love it.
I'm using you My little decoy.
She obviously wants her ex back.
Damn and she's gonna find a way to do it however. and even if her ex doesn't come back, then at least she can make him jealous

General Comment:Even though the meaning is kind of cold I can't help but love this song. It's amazing. And the note Hayley hits at the end of the song(especially when it's live) is wicked!

General Comment:I did this to a guy :/
i like girls. . . i was stuck on this one girl
i was stuck on. i love her & well i hurt
him pretty bad when i finally told him i wasn't
into him, the way he was into me.
I was gone from the very first day--
(meaning her head was on someone else every since the first day)
    this just describes me)
the only difference between me & hayley, i feel guilty still.

My Opinion:One of my favorite Paramore songs! The note Hayley hits in the end is insane!! I think it is about a person who was involved in a relationship in which they loved some one whole heartedly, but came to find out that they were just the person's "decoy" to get them what they actually wanted. Their final parting may have even involved the significant other stating "I'd do it over again" and bluntly showing that they "aren't sorry at all."

The aspect that makes this song unique is the satirical perspective. Great Song <3
