    General Comment:It's very open to personal interpretation, but I think it might be written as a stream of consciousness piece about the future.
    The other way I see it is, he's lost someone close and it's forced him to question what the future holds.

    General Comment:this is the way i persoanlly see this song..
    The singer has lost someone very close to them and now they have begun to question who is going to do all the stuff that person used to do.
    the person who passed away was the one WHO did all of that stuff but now there not there to do it anymore.

    i dont see the second verse to be about war, "suprise attacks" to me seems like a couple having fun.

    but anyways thats how i see it.
    especially because of the chorus, i know it reminds me about the love ones ive lost

    General Comment:love this song. When i hear it i see a child, myself, anyone really on the top of a mountain...thinking " this is my life and mine only".
    on top of that mountain you realize how lonely you really are in this world...its quite powerful when you really think about your own individuality.this song is sad and moving at the same time.

    General Comment:i agree with jaffa but i can see where occams is coming from..
    i think the singer is talking from a third person, or in the stream of consciousness..
    its talking about all the things somebody asks themselves, but it is being asked by a third party.

    General Comment:For me it sounds like a break up, "Nobody sees how our hearts break" gives me that impression, but I could be wrong. It's sad but pretty at the same time. I just luv it.

    General Comment:I so so love this song.

    I can't say I thought of war. I interpret it as nobody knows what it feels like to be you. no-one can really relate as to how your feeling at any given time. Something so meaningless to one person, can mean a great deal to another.

    But thats what I love about powderfinger, not many of their songs are so blunt in their meaning. You can find your own meaning in their lyrics.

    General Comment:My first impression was that it was talking about warfare - maybe Iraq, maybe just general wars - but I think it's about how nobody really knows how soldiers feel, because each soldier is different - you can't lump them all in one category. It's about wondering who will help you, who will die, who you might kill in war. At least, that's one way of thinking about it.
