Lyrics for Folding Stars as interpreted by Franco182

Folding Stars Lyrics
Take a long hard look at your life
how did you end up here
the blood drips like red inverted balloons
tomorrow is a promise to no-one

If you want follow me and i'll lead you inside
you dont have to run and hide

Eleanor
I would do anything for another minute with you
because its not getting easier

In a bedroom with no windows or doors
all the happy people are crying
you can't hold a gaze for a second or two
it always ends in total darkness

Eleanor
I would do anything for another minute with you
because its not getting easier
you will be folding stars
you can't ever understand
it's not getting easier

It ends in a place with no love only hate
and a mirror reflecting the truth
in your eyes, in your face you can't wash it away from your cold, cold heart

Eleanor
I would do anything for another minute with you
because its not getting easier
you will be folding stars
you can't ever understand
it's not getting easier

I hope that you're folding stars

Eleanor i would guess was Simon's mum's name?
To those that don't know, she dies when the songs were being written
Throughout the album there is the theme of death and such, and i would say its his mum's death that brought it all to mind as he wrote, and a couple of songs seem to be just about her.
such as this.
its really sweet and powerful.

The comment above this one is spot on - it's about his deceased mum. Truly incredible song!

I saw Biffy Clyro play this song at Leeds festival this year and it was the last time they will ever play it. The reason for this is that the song is indeed about Simon's mum and he finds it too upsetting to play it live. It is a great song and was a great moment to witness. Mon the Biff!

i also saw it at leeds fest, simon looked like he was gonna cry during it, dont blame him really.

also, doesnt the first line end in 'yourself' not 'your life'

also, does anyone know how his mum died? as this could have some bearing on the interpretation of the song - 'blood drips...' etc

This song is beautiful. I saw them play it at their London show, the last of their show, in spite of the fact that they were admended that they wouldnt. It had half the crowd in tears, since everyone now knows its about his mom, and everyone singing along.

The true meanting of it is so clear once you listen to his voice singing it and the emotion present. A better tribute never exisited. RIP Eleanor xxx

This song made alot of sense to me as soon as i found out about Simons mother's death, but i think it could be generally applied for anybody who's lost someone they loved.
I think its sad that they dont perform it live any more.

All of you who said it was around the timd the puzzle songs that simons mum died are wrong. On thd Infinity Land album book theres a page with just simons face and below it says "this album is dedicated in loving memory to my wonderful mum eleanor neil" ur all puzzle freaks though so i didnt expect any of you to know that lol
