i think this song is about a relationship where both of them have doubts, but shes saying, i know if we stay together its going to save us, so im not giving up and im not letting you do that either.

this is my favorite song lyrically on the cd.
its a great song about keeping strong and not giving up because of something stupid.
i loveeee it. =]

I actually think that this is much like When It Rains.

About a person who has been in a bad situation/depressed, [or along those lines] and pulled through.

They can see that someone they love [friend/family etc.] going through a difficult time and giving up on themselves, but the other person is not gonna give up.
It's as if they're saying don't give up, you'll pull through, even if it seems you never will, just keep going and you'll make it, like I did..
Maybe?
I think that.
But obviously it is open to interpretation and depends on what the listener has expeienced in their life as they are likely to link it to a certain thing that has happened to them.

absolutely amazing song. i love it.

im not completely sure whether she's talking about how she's waiting for something to happen and it isnt happening, but she's not giving up on it. or if she's talking about not giving up on her current relationship [not necessarily a romantic relatioship] just because its getting hard. but either way, its obviously about her not giving up.

You people make me laugh.
First of all. She says "I'm not going" & "Im not leaving" so we already know shes not giving up.

The first sentence of the song describes what its going to be
"I've gone for too long living like I'm not alive"
& The song title "Miracle"

This song is obviously about God.
I've felt so many times in my life that I go too long without contact of Jesus & you dont feel like you're alive.
"Its not faith if you use your eyes"
That screams christian.

Hayley talks about her struggles and how she needs to be obedient and that she needs to start over and she wants to recieve her blessing or miracle.

So, am I right?

All those relationship comments are hilarious. How hard is it to realize Paramore's a Christian band??? At least do your research. I'm not religious or anything, but the song is beautiful. I think it might have more to do with Hayley joining someone on a journey to find God or to become a better Christian.

i DO NOT think that this song is about GOD.lol. thats just funny to me.lol. now im a christian and i believe in the Lord with all my heart but, this song is not about him.

now tell me, isn't the lord supposed to be the one who saves us? the one we turn to when we need help and there is no one else on earth who can help but him. the one who i use the " power prayer" for when no one else can help me.

that clearly means that in order for this to work, you let it work, you can't search for a way in order for it to work. it has to come to you, you can't chase it, like if its meant to be, then its meant to be, so just let it be. and to forget about everything that happened, move on, start over again, make everything right this time, make it work this time.

meaning she doesn't want to run from this, even though she may be scared or worried, she can't let that get in the way( hence, im not going) from this miracle. and she needs the pain from this damage to end, for her to stop hurting, for her to stop dying, for her to release this pain so that she and her lover can be saved.

now i'll tell you a song that i believe is about GOD. number nine, " we are broken". look at those lyrics, and listen to the song deeply, it definatly shows pain and emotion, and trying to find peace and seek help from the lord.

This is my other favorite song. I don't think it's about God, but I think it's about keeping faith in somebody. They may have made mistakes, but in the end, no one's perfect (and vice versa). I pictured a relationship/friendship that's been through a lot, and both party made mistakes and caused eachother pain, but in the end, they still want to be with eachother.

- "i've gone for too long, living like i'm not alive. so i'm gonna start over tonight, beginning with you and i." : she's wasted too much time, searching for perfect, when she didn't realize what's she had.

- "when this memory fades, i'm gonna make sure it's replaced. with chances taken, hope embraced." : she's saying that from now on, she's going to change her ways and cherish what she's got & not take anything for granted.

- "i'm not going, 'cause i've been waiting for a miracle and i'm not leaving." : she's not going to give up because she knows everything will turn around.

- "i won't let you, let you give up on a miracle, when it might save you." : she's not going to let him give up either because she knows in the end it could work.

- "we've learned to run from anything uncomfortable. we've tied our pain below. and no one ever has to know that inside we're broken." : she's saying that they just kept avoiding their seperate issues, when in reality, their issues aren't that seperate. they both are going through the same thing.

- "i tried to patch things up again. so count my tears, and kill these fears." : she's ready to fix everything, and she wants him to know that she's putting her heart and soul into it.

- "it's not faith if you use your eyes. oh, i will get it right this time. let's leave this all behind." : they both need to listen to their heart and they'll make it through and forget about the past.

Yeah, I don't really think this song is about God.

I always just saw this song as her coming to the realization that she's gone too long without taking any chances or going beyond the usual. So now she's going to start following her heart and actually living, even if it may hurt. I mean, it COULD be about religion, but I really don't see that being the real meaning. It just doesn't fit in with the theme of RIOT!

She's believing in God to save her relationship. She's lost faith so she's starting over even though it's difficult.

She's tried to fix it herself and it's not working, she's scared but she can't give up.

She can't go by what she sees or feels. Faith is seeing the end of the pain before you actually get there. She's trying to see past their problems to show him that God can do anything

ayeee..deff a relationship song..! i think that it's some close friends that are falling in love and she doesn't want to let it go cause she's been waiting for a miracle...also she says how she feels like she's not alive so she's going to start over starting with the the other person and her self...maybe they have been hiding something and they don't want to run from anything uncomfortable this maybe suggests they want people to know cause they've gone to long and she's not letting go!
