also what proves that they were together pu broke up is that she says:

It could also be in a situation where u seemingly both like each other and things are just beginning and then the guy refers to you two as 'friends' and u thought it was just starting out, and saying look just dot even bother....how are we/can we be friends when it was clearly something more!

This is one of the only songs where I like the chorus better than the verses or the ending. I know it's corny, but I love the "Friend, what does that even mean?"
