Her voice on this sounds so like Sarah Nixey of Black Box Recorder to me. That same cold, classy quality and there is a lot in the arrangement that is similar.

When I saw the ghost holding the helium balloons in the video, I couldn't help but laugh. It was great.

This is a really beautiful song, and though I never really cared much for Bat For Lashes, actually LISTENING to this song in my brother's car made me want more.
I think I might go buy the CD for myself.

It's about him gone to better life in a physical way but still visiting her as a ghost.

The reference of both ghost aside the highway reference to that as well as the car crash ahead in the video.

Maybe it's just because of the bunny on the bycicle or for some other reason, but the video always reminds me of the movie Donnie Darko.
However, like the movie, the song and video are quite amazing and different.

I was hoping I hadn't just imagined the Shangri-Las connection :] I sort of got it from the song, but ten times more from the video; the bikes in lieu of a motorcycle and then the car wreck, and my brain went "Wait, Leader of the Pack?" Interesting =)
