Making the last of my word
the "works overtime" bit sounds right, however the "making the last of my word" bit don't as much.
It seems like it because hes saying "my life, my pesticide" but at the same time, some of it seems like hes talking about a relationship at the same time.
Factoring in Bert's style of dropping consonants, this leaves the line very largely open to interpretation until an official lyrics sheet comes out.

For the line to read grammatically, the four syllables would have to read into a noun (A one-note hole) or a full sentence (I won no hoe). "Poison" almost sounds like "for yah", but there's definitely a "Z" between the syllables.
I'm partial towards "I wanna hold [pause] to make this quite unpleasant poison", but everything past the root sounds is merely interpretive.

Depending on the drug, it probably has a distinct smell. It's the smell he chose when he decided what he wanted to unknowingly "kill his dream" with. It will "break" him.
