Fast approaching monsters marching in a row
Grab what slips your mind and what your memory won't hold
Run, darling, run
I'll stall them if I can
You'll escape, and I'll be left rotting on the vine

Run, darling, run
I'll stall if I can
You'll escape, and I'll be left rotting on the vine
Avert the children's eyes
Forgets left untold
Don't look back to see
The blood river in the road

Get sweet revenge with my blood river in the road

"Get sweet revenge with my blood" - Meaning that their revenge will be the rest of the family continuing to live

General Comment:I remember I was riding my bike to this meeting and i kept on getting lost and like the busses kept on passing me without stoping and then this song came on and I got this sudden surge of energy and hauled butt up this huge hill, I think it is about a situation where there is no way out but for one of them to sacrifice theirselves , im thinking the girl is pregnant, and it talkes about seeking revenge with the blood he spilt which could be his unborn son or something like that.

General Comment:mitzie and stefanox have some sort of grasp...

the fast approaching monster marching in a row are the mindless zombies that have been breed lately due to the brainwashing that's been going on lately. HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ERA VULGARIS

this song is a message adressed to future generations or his children, or us the fans (the ones that get it at least a little bit). avert the children's eyes. DUH!!! tell your children the truth and don't let them fall in the same pattern.

he's fighting right now but nothing he can really do except warn us to get away from it and do it differently in the future. and avenge him i guess... why not?:D

General Comment:Great music and lyrics...every time I listen to it, I get chills. It reminds me of a battle of some sort (war, being arrested or taken away), but I can't help but wonder if the post by "mitzie" is correct since I may be taking this too literally. The line, "grab what slips your mind, and what your memory won't hold" reminds me of having to leave your home in a rush and only having time to take certain items, but leaving pictures and such behind since those aren't a necessity, only memorabilia. I greatly enjoy this song and can listen to it again and again and again......

General Comment:Gobo brings up a good point. The first time I listened to this song I heard the siren and then the drums come in. Might have significance. Perhaps a mob of people on a "witchhunt" (not to make a pun on "Burn The Witch") so to speak. We don't know anything about the character's history, so it's like catching a movie during the climatic moment. My favorite song on the album right along with "Into the Hollow".

General Comment:To expand, it's a song that I can't personalize, despite understanding the feelings. I mean to say, I can't imagine which character I would be in this small tale. I don't know if I'd be the one to sacrifice himself or the one to escape. I feel like I'd throw myself to the wolves, but I'd need to know how the story ends, not just that I will be avenged. I dunno, it's weirdly emotional and hard to place, which is why I'm still pouring over it.

General Comment:To me, this one is almost exactly what it means. Monsters are monsters, and there's nothing you can do to stop them, just hope that your sacrifice isn't in vain. You don't want to die, and you are saddened by it, but there's nothing you can do. Perhaps the monsters are people. But to me, there's something very foreboding and mysterious about it. It's depressing but very catchy.

General Comment:Well i dont think that this song is neccisarily about revenge, it could be about( and this is my opinion) the suffering of mankind. Just the instances in which mankind has suffered. My resoning is thier use of monsters in the first phrase this could be any sort of type of people, people in the past and also in the present, this also falls into the title of the cd era vulgaris.i knopw this is kind of streaching it but this is what i think. The song is told fromt the piont of few of one of the aflicted families. I could totally be wrong about this and i think i am but this is what i got out of the song.

General Comment:The first time I listened to this song I was driving with a friend and we both looked around for an ambulance or something when it started. We were very confused until we turned down the music.
