It burns deep down inside of me
We have ourselves to blame
Not questioning, accept it as the truth
Debate this fight; it's just cause
The facts do not support theirs
To liberate a people
And rid them of tyrant rule

Is it time to make the change?
Are we closer than before?
Can we help them break away?
Are we profiting from war?
It's time to make the change

(A change)
Catch your attention
(Deceived)
Since the inception
(Afraid)
Fight for what reason?
(Come out)
Can we clean up this mess?
The loss of loved one's ignorant request
They continue the same rhetoric
These derelicts that profit, win or lose

Is it time to make the change?
Are we closer than before?
Can we help them break away?
Are we profiting from war?
It's time to make a change

(Time for change
Fight the fear
Find the truth
Time for change)

The only thing that I believe
Will help us see this through is faith
Pray they will forgive
Forgive our arrogance
So we can make it right
Right what they have wronged

(I see you sweat
Unexpected, controversial
Keep this two wet
Things are gonna get this to know
Your sympathy
A pitiful display, you studder
Your empathy, you've nothing if there is no honor
Responsible of this you are incapable
We implicate, incriminate, exacerbate; too much at stake
Our fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, sons and daughters thoughts
Perpetuating their ideals, and mine are sad to stay the course

Is it time to make the change?
Are we closer than before?
Can we help them break away?
Are we profiting from war?

Is it time to make the change?
Are we closer than before?
Can we help them break away?
Are we profiting from war?

Is it time to make a change
A change from what it's been?
Can we help them break away?
Is our patience wearing thin?
It's time to make a change

(Time for change
Fight the fear
Find the truth
Time for change)

General Comment:"considering that religous faith is what started the whole mess to begin with." The problem is that you're taking the line out of context. The next line is still part of the same train of thought, "Pray they will forgive" I think that DT is saying the only thing we can do is have faith that they will forgive the mistake we've made and pray that they'll understand. Otherwise even if we declare the war over they may still seek vengeance leading to another exaggerated issue.

General Comment:Also, to back up the fact that LaBrie is very unbiased, his lines
    The only thing
    That I believe
Will help us see this through is faith
    Pray they will forgive
    Forgive our arrogance
So we can make it right
    Right what they have wronged
can be interpreted in many ways. Many Dissenters believe that it is our fault and that we are arrogant to go over their and police the world or whatever other naive thoughts, while many others realize that this is an extension of the war on terrorism, and when researched, realize that Saddam Huessein harbored terrorists in his country, where accodring to US intelligence, some 8,000 terrorists were trained. Also, although Bin Laden was at the time in Afghanistan, Al Quaida had many terrorist camps in Iraq. this is where the line "right what they have wronged" comes in. at least thats what I thought, and it makes sense.

General Comment:I have to say that this song is pretty unbiased, and because everything is a metaphor, it all depends on the listener's interpretation. For example, profit doesn't necessarily mean money or power, but perhaps will the ends justify the means. So one could say instead of "are we profiting from war?" "Is the world safer with these tyrants out of power" like I took it to be "is the world profiting from the war."

General Comment:Personally, I find it fairly unbiased. I didn't know sacrificed sons was meant to be neutral, as 9/11 was a tragedy all together. I think with this song, it's the same as the great debate, people see the viewpoint of the song the way they want to.

General Comment:They're not saying America in general is profiting from war, they're talking about certain Americans who are (Cheney, Haliburton, Bush, etc). And no, Bush doesn't really profit financially, but does by gaining power over the people.

General Comment:I actually thought he was causing George W. a Faggot at first. But of course they don't write stuff like that.

General Comment:LaBrie says something on the DVD about trying to write an unbaised view of the war, but I don't think he succeded. He tried the same thing for Sacrificed Sons and it didn't really work either. I say leave that kind of writing to JP. He did it great on The Great Debate.

General Comment:Religion I think did play a part, but so did greed. Iraq did not have anything to do with 9/11 (or atleast not proven), that actually helped to backbone the US attacking Iraq.

But also, Labrie could be referring to other forms of faith as well as religion. Faith in the US troops, Canadian troops, in Afghanistan. That they will prevail and perhaps bring these countries out of a long war state.
