I really love this song! To me it's just saying take a risk and live life and love people and let them know how you feel about them before it is too late. I am feeling that right now and this song is getting me through it.

Hey guys, at first when i listened to the song, i did think it was about that couple or telling someone how you feel before it's too late.. risk, right..

but then after listening to it a couple more times and reading the lyrics, i came to a conclusion that this song is about taking a risk in life, just in general... if you want something that bad, go get it "before it's too late."

sometimes we watch movies and read fiction books looking for something that might give us hope in which it is "buried beneath all the lies"

many people can relate to this song, because we just need to get the ball rolling and that's the hard part. so we need to really feel it and "love till you feel it" right? how can we do or get something we want so bad if we don't feel it?

it can go so many ways, but the message is don't give up, feel it inside you with your heart, and dont hide in your eyes by just looking... go and do it!!

I think we all can relate pretty well here.

We all have those goals (or relationships) we just want to succeed in. If you think about it, nothing is actually stopping us from going for it - just like that. Tomorrow isn't promised, so why not make as much progress as you can now? Take the risk. You'll never know what the outcome is unless you try.

Haha this song is my ringtone and someone rang me when i was having "you know" with my girlfriend and she lost ehr virginity to this song as it played as my ring tone :) haha. I love it even more hehe!
Suuuch a nice song. And it was written into the tranformers movie like to the story of it. And i agree with those saying about live life to the full or sumin along those lines and do everything u can with life!

When i first heard this song, I only heard the chorus -notably the line "Hold on, before it's too late."
Thus, it's been, to me, about someone noticing their relationship was heading toward an end and he's telling her to "hold on."

Somehow, I feel more like this song is what he wishes he had said. I think it's written after that fact, bcause you realize everything is the song so much more in hindsight.

"Nothing is real till its gone"

I mean, some on, obviously someone is familiar with this subject.

I think.. I think he's made a mistake, and theres a lot of hurt, but he's trying with the last ditch shot.. you know, cause any long and it will be too late.

that's my favorite definitely i think it's just about not knowing for sure if taking the risk is worth it in this relationship but do it anyways because what do you have to lose?

in transformers it's playing while they have to get in the car and go to live

this song is soo true but i wish my ex would listen too it. it makes me cry bcuz its soo true and
i wish he would come back and understand that i dont want to loose him and i dont want to forget about him before i start to stop loving him. and we leave this trouble behind and he lives like a 1000 miles away he moved away a year and a half and that was how long we dated. i just miss him.

I think this is about a guy who is falling for a girl who is very insecure, and has lots of fear in life. She's holding herself back from taking risks and actually being who she really is, and the guy is afraid she's not living life because of it.

In general, it's a hopeful song and it is so comforting. I could be the person he's singing about...

It's a reminder that life is too short to put up with fear. Just live it with all your heart, don't let anything hold you back. It's over before you know it.

This song is def amazing! Personally it doesn't get me as much as black balloon or here is gone or slide, but the lyrics are just as good!

"I stood at a distance to feel who you are hiding myself in your eyes..." So often we try to be what we think others want to see in us, but we are scared to get close to them until we feel we can show who we really are. I think this song is about taking a chance and not being afraid to show your true colours to the world

To me this song is about someone who knows what it is like to regret a lot of things. I feel like this song is telling you to take all the chances you want, because if you don't , thats it, you don't get another shot. And if you be who you are, then everything will fall into place.

I like the last line, i reckon it changes the whole perspective of the song

If you look, the chorus states ''its all that we need in our lives''. Whereas in the last chorus, Rzeznik sings ''its all that WE need in OUR lives'' twice, but then finishes off by singing ''its all that I need in MY life''

Dont know about anyone else but this changes the way i look at the song altogether. For the whole song i picture scenes from Transformers and think about how they both help the good ones fight the bad ones etc etc...and then i heard the last line and remembered how he always wanted her but felt she was too good for him and he wouldnt stand a chance etc etc. So it's all that he needs in his life...to be with her. He stood out at distance, to feel who she is....

Thats what i reckon anyway
