Sky was blond like her; it was a day to take the child out back and shoot it
I could have buried all my dead up in her cemetery head
She had dirty word witchcraft; I was in the deep end of her skin
Then, it seemed like a one-car car wreck, but I knew it was a horrid tragedy
Ways to make the tiny satisfaction disappear

[Chorus:]
Blow out the candles
On my Frankensteins
At least my death wish will come true
You taste like Valentine's, and we cry
You're like a birthday:
You should have picked the photograph; it lasted longer than you

Put holes in happiness
We'll paint the future black if it needs a color
Death sentence is now a story we'll be digging when you finally let me die
Romance of our assassination
If you're Bonnie, I'll be your Clyde
But the grass is greener here, and I can see all of your snakes
You wear your ruins well; please, run away with me to hell

[Chorus x 3]

My Interpretation:"Blow out the candles on all my Frankensteins"

Frankenstein was a creation, was he not? He's saying that all his creations (or memories and lessons learned) from his relationship are destroyed because the relationship ended.

"You taste like Valentine's, we cry
    You're like a birthday
Should have picked the photograph, it lasted longer than you"

She was like a birthday, because he enjoyed every moment of her but she only lasted so long before they fell apart. A photograph is a piece of a memory which lasts longer than the actual person.

"We'll paint the future black, if it needs a color"

His future seems lost because his hopes of being with her are burned, and black is the absence of color. There is no color, or optimism, in his future (or so he feels.)

"Death sentence is now a story, we'll be digging when you finally let me die
    Romance of our assassination
If you're Bonnie I'll be your Clyde
But the grass is greener here
And I can see all of your snakes"

The death sentecne is once again the relationship coming to an end and "when you finally let me die"
is his expression of suffering and how he doesn't want to live with the pain. The assassination was the murder of their connection and bond as a couple. I think everyone's heard the story Bonnie and Clyde, it's self explanatory. He can see all of her snakes, or negative things about her that he didn't notice before. The grass is greener in a way because from dark rises light and he can see the truth behind her previous lies.

Overall, this song is about his relationship falling apart and the suffering of it all, the dead memories, and the bitter truth.

just to clear some things up. My interp..

    "She had dirty word witchcraft"

speaking of how she was something evil but tempting as well, a forbidden fruit.

"Then, it seemed like a one car wreck
But I knew it was a horrid tragedy
Ways to make the tiny satisfaction disappear

Speaking of how it feels like the burden of lost love is soley on him,
but knowing that its touching her as well.

    You taste like Valentines
    We cry
    Youre like a birthday"

Saying how he loved her. And every year, just like a birthday, he remembers her.

"I should have picked the photograph
    It lasted longer than you"

(LOVE THIS LINE. Mostly because its exactly how I feel about my ex)

    "The romance of your assassination
If youre Bonnie, Ill be your Clyde"

The way they were the perfect pair, dangerous, nothing could take them down. Or so they thought.

"But the grass is greener here
And I can see all of your snakes"

Looking from where he is now after the break up and seeing the way she truely is. When you are in love, you are blind to your lover'rs imperfections.

(Lord i need to get this album!)

My Interpretation:I understand the meaning of this song, but I just wanted to throw my interpretation of a certain line out there and see what people think.

"Who'll be digging when you finally let me die?"

Could this be about being in a relationship that the other person completely controls? It seems to me that this line is saying "I want to die (die being figurative for whatever it is the speaker wants), but you're the one that's stopping me. When you finally LET me die, I'm doing it right away, and you'll need to find someone to dig for me because as soon as I have power over my own decisions, I'm taking action." The digging could be literal if "die" is literal, but if it's anything else, I think digging in this sense would be the other person dealing with the actions the speaker will take when he has his freedom.
If you made sense of this, leave feedback? Just curious as to what you guys think. :)

General Comment:One of my favourite MM songs :)

"The sky was blonde like her"

Dita is a natural blonde. Not sure the significance of the sky.

"It was a day to take the child
    Out back and shoot it"

The 'child' (something they created together) was the marriage. Personifying it makes it seem like a savage act to 'shoot it'- the way he saw her decision to end the marriage.

"I should have buried all my dead
    Up in her cemetery head
    She had dirty word witchcraft"

As kunfuian said, it's about her way of 'tearing him down with her words'

I was in the deep end of her skin

Skin= a protective barrier... perhaps he thinks she didn't truly know her and that she always had her guard up.

"Then, it seemed like a one car wreck
But I knew it was a horrid tragedy
Ways to make the tiny satisfaction disappear"

    Don't know.

    "Blow out the candles
    On all my frankensteins
At least my death wish will come true"

MM has said that Dita had made him feel as though being him was bad- so this is probably about how he began to shut parts of his personality off and feeling like his former self has died

    "You will taste like Valentines
    We cry
    Youre like a birthday"

Not sure about that bit :|

"I should have picked the photograph
    It lasted longer than you"

As other posters have said, expresses how he wishes he had just stayed a fan of Dita's instead of marrying her

    "Putting holes in happiness
    Well paint the future black
    If it needs any color"

    Again, not sure

"My death sentence is a story
Wholl be digging when you finally let me die?
    The romance of your assassination
If youre Bonnie, Ill be your Clyde"

The break up is entertainment to other people?

"But the grass is greener here
And I can see all of your snakes"

Now he's not with her, he can see that she too has flaws that he previously couldn't see when he loved her

    "You wear your ruins well
Please run away with me to hell"

Doesn't understand that she's unshook by the divorce, wants to have made at least some impact on her and for her to feel the pain he does.

My Interpretation:The chorus largely consists of lines pre-existing the album. The chorus bears a striking resemblance to a passage from a March 2004 journal entry announcing the release of Lest We Forget (the best of):

“At least our death wishes will come true. We don't even need to blow out the candles. I hear that thunder, I hear it too. It's all my goddamn Frankensteins coming back for some sick closure.”

The line ‘you taste like valentine’s’ is what Manson claims he said to ERW after he kissed her for the first time. Lastly in B&C just before they are killed Bonnie & Clyde take a photograph and Manson has said this inspired the lyric.

Manson wrote an essay in 2003 with the title Putting Holes Into Happiness. In the bible the patriarch Adam is tempted by a snake to leave the Garden of Eden. Notably the Devil or Dita in the next song was allegedly loyal to Adam in attempting to trick him into damnation. Thus if Manson is tempted away by Evan then they run away to Hell (in interviews Manson has said Evan is someone to “hold hands with on the walk through hell”.)

There is an interview with tom green i believe where manson tells him that don vita and him meet when she was taking a picture for him.
Side note, her real hair color is blonde.

General Comment:I just heard this song the other day and I think it's amazing. I'm not the best when it comes to interpreting poetry but I like the song so much I've been trying to figure out what this about. If anyone else can give me feed back I wrote what I think it might be about.

"The sky was blonde like her
It was a day to take the child
    Out back and shoot it"

refers to the loss of innocence, either his own with regard to his break up, about love in general, or maybe in reference to this being an effect of Lewis Carol's desires on Alice

"I should have buried all my dead
    Up in her cemetery head"

refers to wanting to put all the negativity of his break up back on his ex and not carry it with him, or it might be a reference of the desire to corrupt someone

    "She had dirty word witchcraft"

this seems to mean that his ex was good at tearing him down with her words, haven't met a women yet that doesn't have this power.

"I was in the deep end of her skin"

not really sure about this part

"Then, it seemed like a one car wreck
But I knew it was a horrid tragedy
Ways to make the tiny satisfaction disappear"

not sure about this either, I think it might be referring to feelings that you are the only one in pain and also embracing the pain of breaking up

    "Blow out the candles
    On all my Frankenstein's
At least my death wish will come true"

If I remember correctly Frankenstein was written by a woman who's mother died at birth and is a metaphor for this, so this is maybe a statement about killing off his old selves or feeling that some part of him has died and I think the birthday thing is him memorializing that.

    "You will taste like Valentine’s
    We cry
    You’re like a birthday"

    not sure about this part

"I should have picked the photograph
    It lasted longer than you"

As mentioned by another poster this seems to be about wishing he had not married her and had just stayed a fan.

    "Putting holes in happiness
    We’ll paint the future black
    If it needs any color"

    pretty straight forward here

"My death sentence is a story
Who’ll be digging when you finally let me die?"

possible response to media coverage or anticipated media coverage of the break up?

    "The romance of your assassination
If you’re Bonnie, I’ll be your Clyde"

not sure, need to watch this movie first

"But the grass is greener here
And I can see all of your snakes"

Looking from where he is now after the break up and seeing her flaws without love in the way.

    "You wear your ruins well
Please run away with me to hell"

commenting on how well she seems to be taking the break up and wanting her back or wanting her to feel pain also.
