  General Comment:I absolutely love this song. :]
  
  Personally, I think the song is self-explanatory. It's about the singer who despite the demeaning words and voices of others, chose to stay with the one that he/she loves.
  It reminds me of doing what you think is right and not allowing the other voices to sway you from that. :]

    I disagree. The tune of the song and the lines "catch my 22", and "darling don't fear 'cause I’m going, going away" say otherwise. You were correct about the "voices" though. This song is about a person (the speaker) who wishes to be with someone, but is afraid of what other people (the voices) will say about it. The speaker writes a song to "share the meaning". Share is a very important word in this line. It implies that there is more than just one meaning to it, because the meaning has to share. So, in a sense, the meaning is hidden, in this case behind a more obvious or self-explanatory one. The speaker isn't afraid to sing the song ("I don't care") because he or she knows that most people won't notice the true meaning. Now on to the line "catch my 22". The phrase "Catch 22" is common idiomatic usage meaning a no-win situation. The no-win situation the speaker is referring to is that the speaker can't be with someone because of what other people will say. Either way the speaker loses. In the end the speaker ends up telling the person he or she wishes to be with not to fear because the speaker is leaving so that neither of them have to deal with what others will say about them.
