    Song Meaning:In an interview the lead singer of Project 86 explained the meaning of this song. Everyone has a hole in their heart that they must fill, Christian fill it with God and Jesus, but when people don't believe in Christ then they are left empty. When empty they desire to look for what can fill ("Deep in the recess of every man is a thief, a robber, a criminal") the hole in their heart and thus greed and lust.

    General Comment:"I want sopmething you have, I need it oh so bad!" It is my opinion that the song is speaking of Salvation. Whenever you see a Christian living and walking with the Holy Spirit, there is utter joy in his stance, his visage, and his complete persona. The one who is of the world (and I too was of the world so please don't think I am pointing righteous fingers at myself, I am not.. I am a sinner as well in need of a Savior, I just answered His call to me.. that is the only difference between a Christian and non Christian) sees this joy in a believer's heart and wants that same joy. But again, the way the song is being portrayed, and Andrew's cunning and shrewd knack for being Macabre, perhaps this is his version of the story of Simon the Sorcerer who saw the Holy Spirit being received by the laying on of hands and he came to the apostles and offered money saying "Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit." But Peter said to him, "Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money!" Simon wanted, "Something you have, I want it oh so bad. Don't move, hand it over, I won't stop til it's in my hands." Peter also said something interesting: "For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity." The songs lyrics have these lines: "Deep in the recess of every man Is a thief, a robber, a criminal Below the surface of every hero Is an envy, a restless evil."
    Scripture reference: Acts 8:9-24. That is my take on the song, but only Project 86 can tell us eventually. I hope Andrew comes out with a book on all his songs and the meanings behind them. Let's petition him one. :)

    General Comment:oh, alright then. i just borrowed the cd from my friend lol so i guess we can trust you. i was confused when i thought it said rapper but i guess i just got used to "hearing" that. but yeah you might be onto something with this forbidden tree stuff. it does sound kinda like wanting something you can't have. maybe the whole evil thing relates to satan tempting eve or just what happens when you disobey God. who knows..
