She reminds me of the one in school
When I was gutted, she was dressed in white
And I couldn't take my eyes off her
But that's not what I took off that night
She'll never cover up what we did with her dress
No
She said, "Kiss me, it'll heal but it won't forget."
"Kiss me, it'll heal but it won't forget."

I don't mind you keeping me on pins and needles
If I could stick to you and you stick me, too

Don't break, don't break my heart
And I won't break your heart shaped glasses
Little girl, little girl, you should close your eyes
That blue is getting me high
Don't break, don't break my heart
And I won't break your heart shaped glasses
Little girl, little girl, you should close your eyes
That blue is getting me high, making me low
That blue is getting me high, making me low

She reminds me of the one I knew that cut up the negatives of my life
I couldn't take my hands off her; she wouldn't let me be anywhere but inside

And I don't mind you keeping me on pins and needles
If I could stick to you and you stick me, too

Just don't break, don't break my heart
And I won't break your heart shaped glasses
Little girl, little girl, you should close your eyes
That blue is getting me high
Don't break, don't break my heart
And I won't break your heart shaped glasses
Little girl, little girl, you should close your eyes
That blue is getting me high, making me low

She'll never cover up what we did with her dress
No
She said, "Kiss me, it'll heal but it won't forget."
"Kiss me, it'll heal but it won't forget."

I don't mind you keeping me on pins and needles
If I could stick to you and you could stick me, too

Don't break, don't break my heart
And I won't break your heart shaped glasses
Little girl, little girl, you should close your eyes
That blue is getting me high
Don't break, don't break my heart
And I won't break your heart shaped glasses
Little girl, little girl, you should close your eyes
That blue is getting me high, making me low

This is a good song, it's very different from anything he's ever done, which is also good. If an artist doesn't transform, he/she remains stagnant, and never evolves, Manson is still as talented as ever. People who can't understand that, have maturing to do.

As for this song, it's obviously about a relationship, with sex. People say he may be referring to Dita, his ex wife. I think this song could also be about a pedophile, in a relationship with a young girl who reflects someone he cared for in the past.

Notice he says "Little girl, Little girl, you should close your eyes, that blue is gettin' me high." I think he's referring to her eyes, but also labeling her little girl makes me think she is possibly underage, that and this line- "Don't break, don't break my heart and I wont break your heartshaped glasses." Heartshaped glasses are something you would see a little girl wearing. The line "Kiss me it'll heal but it wont forget" could be about her losing her virginity to him.

Afterall the album is about sick romance.

I thought of the movie/book "Lolita" (book by Vladimir Nabokov) when I heard this song -look it up if you don't know what it's about

especially the reference to the "Heart-shaped glasses" which is an icon of the movie and the fact that Lolita would kind of keep her step-father (who she was having an afair with) on pins and needles.

Actually the Lolita part and the dita parts are correct but there's a little more to it then that, I just found out:

"The song was written because I had been reading the book Lolita and it was very close with Evan Rachel Wood, who’s now my girlfriend, and she came to visit me one day wearing these glasses like Stanley Kubrick in Lolita. And part of it because of her sense of humour and knowing that people would make their comments about our relationship because she’s younger than me. And when I saw her wearing those glasses I had to write a song about it, and that’s the way I wrote most of the record."

That's it. Just found it interesting.

I'm glad there are people that hate it. They always make my day, these people that don't like artists that evolve. I love this song and If I Was Your Vampire.. I love it even more.

marilyn manson is awesome. all his songs have actual meanings to them; his music isn't shallow like other stuff i've heard.

I'm actually quite impressed with this song. Manson has done alot of changing through out the years and not everyone has liked it. if you do recall, every single manson cd has been distinctly different. and this is about what i expect his new sound would be like, industrial with depressing lyrics and impressive guitar lines. notice its not a complete turn around from his later work, but it is changing, that why i like manson so much, he doesnt repeat himself musically, theres much diversity in his sound from the screaming industrial metal of antichrist superstar to the funky glam rock of mechanical animals to the rave indusrial "hate-pop" of golden age of grotesque. he's almost always kept an industrial background, but expressed it in different ways.

i think this song is about his divorce and reletionship with the 19 year old actress that he cheated on dita with. you fill in the blanks.

I strangely like this song. I know it's more poppy than his other songs, but I still like it.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
