I'm in the business of misery, let's take it from the top
She's got a body like an hourglass that's ticking like a clock
It's a matter of time before we all run out
When I thought he was mine, she caught him by the mouth

I waited eight long months
She finally set him free
I told him I couldn't lie, he was the only one for me
Two weeks and we had caught on fire
She's got it out for me, but I wear the biggest smile

[Chorus]
Whoa, well I never meant to brag
But I've gotten what I wanted now
Whoa, it was never my intention to brag
To steal it all away from you now
But God does it feel so good
'Cause I got him where I want him now
And if you could then you know you would
'Cause God it just feels so
It just feels so good

Second chances they don't ever matter, people never change
Once a whore, you're nothing more, I'm sorry that'll never change
And about forgiveness, we're both supposed to have exchanged
I'm sorry honey, I passed out, now look this way

Well there's a million other girls who do it just like you
Looking as innocent as possible to get to who
They want and what they like, it's easy if you do it right
Well I refuse, I refuse, I refuse!

[Chorus]

I watched his wildest dreams come true
Not one of them involving you
Just watch my wildest dreams come true
Not one of them involving

Whoa, well I never meant to brag
But I got him where I want him now

[Chorus]

General Comment:So I was convinced this was a song about Haley Williams Williams stealing Sherrie DuPree of Eisley's husband Chad Gilbert, but this song came out before Gilbert ditched his wife for Williams in late 2007. Ironic that the lyrics fit what she later did. If you're interested in the view from the spurned woman, Eisley has several songs, the best of which is "Sad". "Smarter" & "Mr Moon" are also about Haley Williams stealing her husband. Great songs all

General Comment:i felt pretty bad about the fact that this is about to become my story, until i thought hey, if hayley williams can feel like this and not feel bad then so can i!
also the whore did it to me first, after a year and a half relationship, what goes around comes around biatch!

to the people that said she's being judgmental or whatever, she's pissed, she'll say whatever she likes. i doubt she literally means this girl is a streetwalker and will never amount to anything more in life, it's just a word used to insult someone you're mad at.

and i absolutely love the line "i never meant to brag", she waited patiently for this guy, she didn't purposely try to break them up or be like those million other girls looking as innocent as possible to get what they want etc etc, she didn't exactly intend for it to happen the way it did, but it did, and she is bloody happy about it. i never meant for it to go down this way, i never meant to rub it in your face, but you're a whore and i hate you .. soo i will.

Song Meaning:The song is aimed at Sherri DuPree Bemis of Eisley and her marriage to Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory. Listen to the lyrics of the Eisley song "Sad" and you'll hear Sherri's response to Misery Business.
"I waited eight long months she finally set him free" - Sherri broke off the marriage after she found Chad cheating on her with Hayley.
    From "Sad" -
"Hardly waiting 'til the bed was warm, He closed his eyes and said "I'm feeling torn".
How could I be so unendingly forced into this course." shows he was being adulterous.
"Shifting from side to side Can't make up his God-given mind why don't you just go? She's waiting"
and "I feel sad For you, so sad. You'll be left alone and broken Bleeding from the heart when he doesn't come home. Oh honey I am telling you, you'd better think about it." Is Sherri warning Hayley that it's not the girl, it's the man that's the problem. He cheated once, he'll do it again.

My Interpretation:i think it's about this classic vindicative love story... you see it all the time, this nerd, emo, loser, etc. is in love with someone who's dating the popular kid, right? but the nerd, emo, loser, etc. knows that they are better for this person than the popular kid is(Hayley obviously being the "underdog" if you will). The person of interest is obviously not enjoying the relationship with the popular kid, and the "underdog" feels a righteous vindicative love for the person, and knows that they'd be happier with them.

    General Comment:hayley has said...
"Misery Business is about this girl who came into my circle of friends and she used her sexuality to get some kind of acceptance. it really was a dark time in my life because i was in love with the person she was taking advantage of. it was weird to see someone have that much power over another person. manipulation is such a serious thing, especially when sex is the main tool. it was good to get all that out in the song - i held it in for a long time."

General Comment:I did almost exactly what this song is about, and god did it feel so good...
I saw Paramore live recently and they were incredible, I lost my voice after screaming this song... It's just incredible, when I first heard it I just loved the bitchy nature of it, my favourite line is: "I watched his wildest dreams come true, not one of them involving you". Harsh.

    General Comment:True story here:

It was a song written by the ghost behind the music industry in 1985 underneath another band's song, hayley and the ghost used time travel to help free him and get him back into his vessel, he aims to be jesus some day. It's a good song and was supposed to free him, but her weak orgasm button and love of dark haired hollywood freaks left the ghost grasping at straws. Now he has to rely on 'boon rape party for freedom.

he still loves her to death btw.

My Opinion:This song COULD have suited my situation perfectly. I COULD have got him where I wanted him...but things went wrong. Very wrong. Because of me. But I DID manage to break this couple up, which I never thought I would do.

What I wouldn't give to sing this song! But of course, only Hayley with the 3-octave vocal range and largest set of lungs can sing songs like this, so I guess I'll have to keep dreaming :D
