Lyrics for Born for This as interpreted by thoseguiltyeyes

Born for This Lyrics
Oh no, I just keep on falling
(Back to same old...)
And where's hope when misery comes crawling
(Oh, my way-ay)
With your faith, you'll trigger a landslide
(Victory)
And kill off this common sense of mine

It takes acquired minds
To taste, to taste, to taste this wine
You can't down it with your eyes
So we don't need the headlines
We don't need the headlines
We just want...

We want the airwaves back
We want the airwaves back

Everybody, sing
Like it's the last song you will ever sing
Tell me, tell me
Do you feel the pressure now?
Everybody, live
Like it's the last day you will ever see
Tell me, tell me
Do you feel the pressure now?

Right now, you're the only reason
(I'm not letting go, oh)
And time out, if everyone's worth pleasing
(Well, ha ha)
You'll trigger a landslide
(Victory)
To kill off their finite state of mind

It takes acquired minds
To taste, to taste, to taste this wine
You can't down it with your eyes
So we don't need the headlines
No, we don't want your headlines
We just want...

We want the airwaves back
We want the airwaves back

Everybody, sing
Like it's the last song you will ever sing
Tell me, tell me
Do you feel the pressure now?
Everybody, live
Like it's the last day you will ever see
Tell me, tell me
Do you feel the pressure now?
Everybody, sing
Like it's the last song you will ever sing
Tell me, tell me
Do you feel the pressure?

All right, so you think you're ready?
Okay, then you say this with me
Go!
We were born for this
(We were born for this)
All right, so you think you're ready?
Okay, then you say this with me
Go!
We were born for this
(We were born for this)
We were born for this
(We were born for this)
We were born for, we were born for...

Everybody, sing
Like it's the last song you will ever sing
Tell me, tell me
Can you feel the pressure?
Everybody, live
Like it's the last day you will ever see
Tell me, tell me
Can you feel the pressure now?
Everybody, sing
Like it's the last song you will ever sing
Tell me, tell me
Can you feel the pressure?
Tell me, tell me
Can you feel the pressure?

We were born for this
(We were born for this)
We were born for this

And where's hope when misery comes crawling?
*(Oh, oh ay, ay)
With your faith, you'll trigger a landslide
*(Misery)
To kill off this common sense of mind

and

*And I'm out if everyone's worth pleasing
(Whoa oh)
You'll trigger a landslide
*(Victory)
To kill off their finite state of mind

wow you've got the lyrics up already!

this song seems kind of like parts from there first album, example:
Tell me, tell me
Do you feel the pressure now?

(Whoa oh)

OK so that's only 2 examples... i don't think i have much of a point...

Everybody, sing
Like it's the last song you will ever sing

Kind of part of that contest they had a little while ago... which now I can kind of compare it to Whoa from their album... "We got everybody singing" from Whoa and "Everybody sing, like it's the last song you'll ever sing." Well I don't have much of a point to this, just making comparisons...

Definately about the band.

Thought it was "You CAN'T down it with your eyes"... as in, don't like us for how we look, you can't experience Paramore that way.

Can't wait for Riot.

Just to let everyone know, I won't be making any changes to the lyrics until the album actually comes out and I'll be able to see what lines are wrong and what aren't, so don't bother commenting to what you think the right lyrics are. :)

Anywayy.
This song is brilliant. I can't for Riot to come out in June. And, yeah, it's about the band.
Amazing.

Great Song!
This song seems kind of like they just want real fans and they don't care want others say about them.
I know it's really obvious in the lyrics.

Hmmm...well, according to their LJ (I'm such a dork) Hayley was feeling really down one day about the way that the recording was going, and the critics in some magazines, and other haters on this awesome band. So she went home, got online, and read some awesome feedback from fans, and she decided that they didn't need the approval of major magazines and critics, so long as she was having fun and the fans were having fun. And then she wrote "Born For This," Josh laid down some music, and they got the winners of the contest to sing the backing vocals. It's intended to be the "Whoa" of RIOT, so all the throwbacks to All We Know Is Falling are intentional. It's kinda a response to all the hype around the second album (the sophomore curse), by saying "Well, you heard our old stuff, so can you handle the new?" sort of thing.

Wow. I hope that made sense.

Amazing song! The vocals are just perfect! I think this song is about them saying to people who want to talk shit that they dont care!

"We don't want your headlines" is perfect, cause it just says, we dont need your support, to be successful!

Can't wait for RIOT!!! :)

wouldnt it be "you can'T down it with your eyes" instead of "you can down it with your eyes" if they say "so we dont need the headlines" cuz you read headlines with ur eyes.. but you hear music with your ears.. so they might be saying you can't down their awesome music with ur eyes. i dono just a thought.

kristy72 - I'm not changing anything until I know what the absolute correct lyrics are, so until the album comes out and I can see the actual lyrics printed in the album sleeve for this song, I'm leaving it as it is.

I think that this song is about the pressures of being a band today, the publicity, touring, and trying to have a normal life. Also, I think it's about what music has come to today...((We want the airwaves back)). It's about the pressures, but it's also about how much they love it and the music, and that life IS about living it to the fullest. They feel they are getting to do this. Amazing song! :)

alioopity: Who has said that? I actually haven't heard of one person who just started liking Paramore after RIOT! came out and hasn't heard any of their older stuff at all. Well, at least not yet. I think that pretty much every Paramore fan so far has heard AWKIF, and even if they haven't, they'd probably listen to it eventually.

im really sad that i just started listening to them.
i wish i would have listened to them when my friends started talking about them.
i plan on getting AWKIF asap, but i got RIOT! the other day and havent spent enough time not listening to it to get AWKIF. soon, soon.

anywayy.. this song is incredible. i agree completely with letyourheartwin. the song's just about everything they're going through and how they dont really care what people think of their music because they're not in it for everyone else. they're in it because they love making music. and they know they have fans that love them for what they are.

i really hope that made sense.

alioopity: Welcome to the pop music scene, you elitist snob. If this is the first band that you've liked that this has happened with, get used to it, or stop listening to FBR bands...not meaning to be mean, but it happens a fair bit and FBR seems to spit them out pretty well, kinda like Drive Thru used to be.
