great song and to me i think this is like telling people that no matter what we done we can always find a way to start over or forget the past and move on to the present

Not trying to be a hater... I adore LP's older songs. First two albums, better than sex. But this song. Its bland, its boring.... Its basically U2.
I read the interview in KERRANG last year... how they were saying that they looked at the songs that sold best and emulated them. I hate to say it but it feels like theyve sold out their image.
They said in the same interview that people saying they were nu-metal was like saying they sucked. Complete crap. The other big players in Nu-metal, (IMO) disturbed, KORN etc. Theyre sticking with it and their fans love them for it. With Minutes to midnight... i lost my respect for LP... almost completely. If they bring out a new album, ill be very wary to buy it.

This song is so powerful not only because of the musical arrangement, but because of the message it sends. So often people hold grudges and don't forgive those that are trying to start again. This song is about a person beginning again and forgetting all the past mess ups and past grievances. He says, "So let mercy come and wash away what I've done."

I think it's important to give people forgiveness when they genuinely ask for it, because it takes strength to admit you're wrong and to put yourself at the mercy of another. Hooray Linkin Park for starting fresh!

This song got me through something recently. There was this girl that I liked very much and let her know...but from her it was mixed messages. Finally I decided that I was just putting it behind me..."no matter what pain may come- today this ends."

I've done nothing more than screw up my life in the past and now i'm miserable. Some bad luck, bad decisions, and just being around the wrong people has buried me too deep. All i can do now is change everything, literally. But, first, you have to forgive yourself for everything you've ever done and leave the past in the past. I'm pretty sure that's what the song is somewhat about.

yeah the song is good and all but take a very close look at the lyrics of the song, "erase myself" that pretty much says that i want to die. But still the song is very good and all i'm not a real big fan of the lyrics of the song

Tho i've also heard that numb is a good song that they made as well and there lyrics are not that bad or suicidal for that note
