If I'm not mistaken, Joe Simpson is the father and manager of Ashlee and Jessica Simpson.

I am hearing a few things differently:

"never wanna forget" sounds like "Everyone'll forget"

"watch it on the tv" sounds like "busted on the TV"

"im not the only one" sounds like "am I the only one"

"said you're daddys little girl" sounds like "so your daddy's really proud"

and I agree with the "Joe" suggestion above.

And something that's bugging me -- if you Google search for these lyrics, you find a bunch of sites like lyricstime, smartlyrics, etc. that all have the exact same lyrics, right down to the typo in the second verse ('pratice').

What's up with that?

This song is a personal favorite of mine. I don't think this is a direct stab to Ashley Simpson.. but it definitely includes her in the mesh of things. I think the Ashley Simpson lip sync scandal is probably the initial reason for writing this song.. and expands out to all the other pop punky pop shit that all sounds the same, that SO MANY PEOPLE listen to nonstop.

i actually got the chance to meet these guys at the Family Values Tour, pretty sweet guys. i asked them about the song and it is indeed all about Ashlee Simpson, the "dumb whore" as they call her.

I met them at Family Valuestoo. I got myself an autographed CD and poster. These guys were awesome live. Amd yea, the song is About Ashley Simpson. At the venue i was at, he made it all dramatic. hahaha. "This next song is our first single off our new album. It's about a girl we all know... she;s smart, beautiful, and good person...(pause for effect) and a complete whore!! And her ame is Ashley Simpson." It was great.

Good to see more comments on this one than the others :D I loved them to death at Family Values, these guys are gonna go places fast.. (and already have).

There's not much else to say about this song that hasn't already been said... I'm just glad someone finally made a song about this kinda shit, hah!

I certainly agree with what has been said about the song's meaning.

On another note, doesn't anyone else think that Jason looks like Jared Leto from 30 Seconds To Mars? Not to offend anyone, but I can see some similarities...

oh this song is magical! I just read about Pete Wentz getting angry at its contents and sending a pissed off letter to the band stating that he wishes for them to stop performing it live because it hurts Ashlee's little feelings.

Is it sad that his comments actually made me look into the band? haha. great song

I saw Neurosonic in Portland Saturday, and they introduced the song this way:

"This is a song about peace, love, and friendship.

This is a song about Ashlee Simpson.

We're going to get that bitch."

I think that pretty much sums it up, if there was ever any doubt.

This song is so funny, although on Wikipedia there is an article about that guy from Panic! At The Disco [totally dont listen to the band, so I dont know his name] who is with Ashlee Simpson, who is all pissed off at this song...
This is probally [I think] the best song by Neurosonic off of the Drama Queen CD, although the entire CD is awesome and one of my faveorites from local bands.
