Hats need a beat
Like awake needs asleep
Like a pen needs a page
To re-write you need a mistake, oh, yeah

Hearts need a mind
Like a clock needs the time
Like white needs black
If you leave I hope you need to come back

Oh, I swear, I know, I believe it
Oh, I can't stop hearin' all the singin'
Oh, my soul has never had this feelin'
And it feels like gold

You got so much love in you
You got so much love in you
I'm amazed that I'm talkin' to you
You look like the songs that I've heard my whole life comin' true

Strike all the bells
Hit 'em hard, make 'em all yell
Celebrate, infatuate
Lock us up, yeah, incarcerate, oh

Oh, I swear, I know, I believe it
Oh, I can't stop hearin' all the singin'
Oh, my soul has never had this feelin'
And it feels like

So, so, so much love in you
You got so much love in you
I'm amazed that I'm talkin' to you
You look like the songs that I've heard my whole life comin' true

You got so much love in you
You got so much love in you
I'm amazed that I'm talkin' to you
You look like the songs oh, oh, oh, oh
Yeah, yeah, oh, c'mon, yeah

You got so much love in you
You got so much love in you
I'm amazed that I'm talkin' to you
You look like the songs that I've heard my whole life comin' true

You got so much love in you
You got so much love in you
I'm amazed that I'm talkin' to you
You look like the songs that I've heard my whole life comin' true

You got so much love in you
You got so much love in you
I'm amazed that I'm talkin' to you
You look like the songs oh, oh, oh, oh

General Comment:When asked about this after his Charlotte concert on 3/22/2013 he said he often hears about a spiritual interpretation, and he has no quarrel with that, but it honestly wasn’t written with such a direct meaning. He continued saying

“It’s one of my most vague songs and it’s funny that it became my biggest.”

He also mentioned how hard it was for him to look back and think about a song he wrote nearly seven years ago and always remember exactly what it meant to him at the time.

General Comment:old news, but I remember Bryce making a comment on Twitter that the "Hats need a beat" IS a drumming reference. High Hats, cymbalish contraption thingy for drums.

General Comment:I think the people here who say it's about his wife are right and the people who say it's about his relationship with God are also right. The fact that he's a Christian shines thorugh every aspect of his music. When you're on fire for God, it shows in your music no matter what you're singing about.

General Comment:This is what Sarah Bareilles' 'Love Song' might've sounded like on her BEST day.

But yeah, it doesn't. Cause that song sucks. And this song rocks my socks off. Oookay...

... 'Hats need a bee'? Are you serious?

General Comment:this has two meanings to me.

    1. everyone has love in them, doesn't matter who you are we all have love and it connects us all. it is a feeling that everyone can relate to cause we have all either been in love, loved someone, or been loved.

    2. the sweet feeling of love, bryce is in love and he is in complete joy.

General Comment:Isn't it 'hats need a bee'? You know, like bee in your bonnet? Turn the volume up and listen to it. I'm pretty sure it is.

    Love this song.

General Comment:Well, sorry to bring this back up since we've gone *GASP* 7 comments (3 of which were written by the same person) without bringing this back up again, but when I heard the song it sounded like "Like hives need a bee." Yes, it sounds stupid to me now, but it made sense to me at the time.
By the way, yes, the person who wrote "He's VERY religious so this song is about his amazing connection with God," was an idiot for thinking that just because he's religious means every song has to be about God, BUT!!!! You are also pretty hypocritical... for thinking that it can't possibly be about God because that's just too cliche or something like that.
And God and all words referring to him don't have to be completely capitalized just to show you're talking about Him...
And you ARE an immature little cookie, outofrhythm93!!!
